Overview

Trimble Quadri is an infrastructure collaboration platform built around a shared central model. Project teams can work from a cloud-shared model as a common source of project data, with model changes connected to work processes and issue notifications to help teams follow up on questions or discrepancies. The product is aimed at participants working across the infrastructure project lifecycle, rather than homeowners selecting a coating for a room or a fence.

Quadri also covers model review, quantities and construction records. It provides 3D, longitudinal and cross-section views, along with table views for quantity takeoff. As construction progresses, teams can record digital assets in an as-built model and keep project documentation current. Its scope extends into road and rail alignment planning and sustainability forecasting, including projected CO2 emissions from construction and road or rail use.

For readers comparing tools in this directory, Quadri belongs with Painting and construction estimating software, though its central role is infrastructure model collaboration rather than choosing paint products or colours.

Key features

Shared model and issue follow-up

Teams can share a central model in the cloud, giving project participants a common reference for project information. Quadri links model modifications with work processes and provides notifications and alerts to help teams track or clarify model issues.

Views, quantities and records

Users can review the model in 3D, longitudinal and cross-section views, or use table views to take off quantities across the model. Quadri can also capture digital assets in an as-built model and update project documentation as construction advances.

Connectors and customization

Listed connectors include Trimble Connect, Novapoint, Trimble Business Center, Tekla Structures, SketchUp, Tilos, Quantm, ProjectWise, Rhino Grasshopper, Open Roads Designer, Revit and Civil 3D. Trimble says APIs can be used to customize features and workflows and connect data to Quadri. The product lists IFC support, as well as multi-discipline coverage, cloud collaboration and quantity takeoff.

Alignment and sustainability planning

Quantm within Quadri can assess construction alignment alternatives for road and rail corridors. Quadri can also forecast CO2 emissions associated with construction and road or rail use to support sustainability planning.

Pricing

Trimble Quadri is a paid product with pricing on request and a 30-day trial. A free plan is also listed: Quadri Viewer costs 0.00 USD per free. It is a read-only model display tool for viewing and commenting, and for measuring distances and areas. The full Trimble Quadri plan requires a Quadri license; its price is not stated on the opened product pages.

Using Quadri requires Trimble Identity credentials, an installation and a Quadri license. The Viewer’s listed functions are limited to review and measurement, so its free status should not be taken to mean that the full licensed product is free.

Platforms

Quadri is listed for API, self-hosted, web and Windows use. Its Help describes Connected Projects and On-Premise projects as deployment options. Windows system requirements include at least 32 GB of RAM, 50 GB of free disk space, and an internet connection for cloud features.

Pay attention to version support before planning a deployment: Quadri for Windows 2024 reached end of life on May 1, 2026. End-of-life versions no longer receive technical assistance, bug fixes, updates or security patches. Support services are open on workdays from 09:00 to 16:00 GMT+1. Users without a support agreement are directed to a local dealer or email support.

Who it's for

Quadri is intended for infrastructure project participants who need to coordinate model information and project work across a lifecycle. Its model views, quantity takeoff, issue follow-up, as-built records and alignment planning are relevant to infrastructure delivery, not everyday residential painting decisions.

Trimble describes the free Viewer as a tool for project managers and construction decision makers. It supports read-only model viewing, comments and measurements, while the licensed product is required for broader Quadri use. The product also lists scheduling and estimating capabilities including critical path, Gantt charts, resource planning, schedule templates, bottom-up estimation, cost estimation and historical data.

Pros and cons

Pros: A shared central model, issue notifications, several model-view formats, quantity takeoff and as-built documentation support coordinated infrastructure work.
Pros: The listed connectors and API options provide ways to connect Quadri with other design and project tools and adapt workflows.
Pros: A free, read-only Viewer offers model viewing, commenting and measurement without implying access to the licensed product.
Cons: The full product's price is not published, and use requires an installation, Trimble Identity credentials and a license.
Cons: The Windows requirements include at least 32 GB RAM and 50 GB of free disk space, which may be a substantial setup requirement.
Cons: Windows 2024 is past end of life, and that version no longer receives technical assistance, fixes, updates or security patches.
Cons: Quadri is specialized for infrastructure projects, so it is not a direct tool for selecting paint, stain or coating for a home surface.

Alternatives

For other construction, estimating or project-oriented tools, consider OpenConstructionERP, Trimble Viewpoint Vista, Bidwright, CostX, Buildxact, HCSS, QuoteSoft and eTakeoff.

Verdict

Trimble Quadri is a substantial infrastructure collaboration platform for teams that need a shared project model, issue follow-up, quantities and evolving as-built records. Its connectors, APIs, road and rail alignment evaluation, and emissions forecasting broaden its role beyond model viewing. The main practical checks are the unlisted full-product price, licensing prerequisites, Windows resource requirements and the end-of-life status of the 2024 Windows version. For homeowners choosing paint or coatings, Quadri is outside the core job; for infrastructure teams coordinating model-based delivery, it is aimed squarely at that work.
