Overview

ProDesk is a contractor workspace that brings estimates, scheduling, invoicing, customer records, payments and job tracking together. Contractors can prepare and send estimates on-site, monitor approvals, follow up automatically and turn approved estimates into invoices. Customer records keep job history, notes, photos and billing details together, giving contractors a place to refer back to the work and its related records.

ProDesk also includes a customer portal. Contractors can let customers view estimates, approve work, check job status and access past invoices. The platform is presented for service contractors across more than 28 industries, though its lead-network coverage and program availability depend on trade and location.

Key features

Estimates, approvals and invoices

Contractors can create and send estimates while on-site, track whether customers approve them, and use automatic follow-ups. An estimate can be converted into an invoice, connecting the proposed work to billing. Estimate templates are listed among the available capabilities.

Scheduling and job coordination

Scheduling tools let contractors assign crews, reduce double-booking and send appointment reminders automatically. ProDesk also lists a dispatch board and job tracking. Team members can be assigned jobs; in the mobile app, each technician sees only their own jobs.

Customer records and communication

The CRM groups each customer’s job history, notes, photos and billing records. Customer messaging is also listed as a capability. With portal access, customers can review estimates, approve work, follow job status and look up earlier invoices.

Payments and integrations

ProDesk supports online payments and automated payment reminders. Payments are processed through Stripe, which charges its standard processing fees. The pricing page lists Stripe as an integration. Jobs from Angi, Thumbtack and TaskRabbit can be added manually through the ecosystem; these are not described as automatic integrations.

Pricing

ProDesk Software is listed as free for customers with active availability in both Service Connection and FieldDirect. The plan has no listed usage caps on estimates, invoices, customers or jobs. A separate software price is not listed, and Stripe processing fees apply. The pricing page says Stripe processing typically costs 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction.

Free access has a condition: contractors need to remain visible in both Service Connection and FieldDirect. A software fee may apply if availability is closed entirely. Coverage and lead volume in Service Connection vary by location and trade, while FieldDirect programs vary by trade and geography, so access to those programs may not be the same for every contractor. There is no free trial.

Platforms

ProDesk is available on Android, iOS and the web. The mobile app supports technician job access, with each technician limited to seeing their own assigned jobs.

Who it's for

ProDesk is aimed at service contractors who want estimates, customer records, scheduling, job coordination, invoices and payments in one workspace. Its features may suit teams that assign jobs to crews and technicians, while the customer portal offers a way to share estimates, approvals, progress and invoice history with clients.

Its free-plan terms are especially relevant to contractors who can remain active and visible in both Service Connection and FieldDirect. Because availability, coverage and lead volume depend on trade and geography, contractors should consider whether those programs apply to their work before treating the software as free on an ongoing basis.

Verdict

ProDesk combines the core administrative tasks of a service contractor—estimates, scheduling, customer records, job assignments, invoicing and payments—with a customer portal and mobile access for technicians. Its free plan has no stated caps on estimates, invoices, customers or jobs, but that offer is tied to active availability in two contractor networks, and Stripe processing fees still apply. The key consideration is whether those availability requirements and trade-and-location limits fit the contractor’s business.
