Overview

Roomle combines a floor-planning app with product-configuration tools. Its 2D/3D Floorplanner lets users draw and import floor plans, plan rooms, choose furniture and configure items without special training. The listed project limit is 25.

The home planner includes a catalog of thousands of products, configurable live 3D views and augmented reality (AR). Floor plans sync in real time across the web, iOS and Android, so a project can move between desktop and mobile devices.

Roomle also offers Rubens, a configurator aimed at businesses selling products online. It supports photo-realistic models, product parameters and structural elements, app-less AR and 4K rendering. Interactive 2D, AR and VR floor plans can be embedded in online channels, including white-label websites using a company’s design.

Founded in Austria in 2014, Roomle says it employs 20 people at Tabakfabrik Linz. For homeowners choosing colours or finishes, its clearest fit is planning a room and visualizing furniture and products; the more extensive configuration and integration tools are oriented toward businesses.

Key features

Plan and visualize a room

The Floorplanner supports 2D and 3D planning, floor plan imports, furniture selection and item configuration. Its catalog, live 3D views and AR offer ways to explore a proposed room layout. These features can help with spatial planning, but the listed capabilities do not establish that the tool previews paint colours or coatings on a particular surface.

Configure products for online sales

Rubens can display configurable products as photo-realistic models and return configuration details through a JSON API. Available outputs include bills of materials, SKUs, dimensions, images, configuration IDs and permanent product links. The solution lists Shopify, Shopware, Wix, WooCommerce and Adobe Commerce as supported e-commerce platforms.

For business systems, Rubens integrates with ERP, CAD/CAM, PIM and production systems. Its open API supports systems including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce and Sage. Roomle says building custom configurators currently requires technical knowledge; web or JavaScript developers can build them.

Hosting and support

Roomle hosts its infrastructure on Google Cloud, with servers in Frankfurt, Germany. It lists Google Cloud certifications for ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701. Roomle also says services use HTTPS, passwords are stored encrypted, regular backups are performed and Stripe alone processes payment cards.

Rubens users receive developer documentation, training materials and access to an official Jira Service Management support channel. Technical questions can also be raised on Stack Overflow.

Pricing

Roomle is listed as freemium, with a free plan and free trial. Its pricing note says “Free plan · paid from €850/mo.” The specified license prices below are listed separately and use annual billing; no conversion or explanation is provided for the difference between those figures and the monthly starting-price note.

Plan	Price and listed limits
3D Viewer (Level 1)	140.00 EUR per year; 150 3D product uploads per month, 120 000 views per year and 1 platform (website / domain).
Material Configurator (Level 2)	280.00 EUR per year; 150 3D product uploads per month, 120 000 views per year and 1 platform (website / domain).
Product Configurator (Level 3)	1150.00 EUR per year; 10 Product configurators, 180 000 views per year and 1 platform (website / domain).
Enterprise integration (Level 4)	Price not listed; billed license billed monthly or annually; 20 Product configurators, 500.000 views per year and 1 platform (website / domain).

The plan limits describe product uploads, configurators, views and platforms for business-facing tools. The available details do not specify which paid plan, if any, unlocks particular Floorplanner features.

Platforms

Roomle supports web, iOS and Android. Real-time synchronization across these platforms allows users to switch devices while working on a floor plan. Floor plan import and AR visualization are listed as supported.

Who it's for

Roomle may suit homeowners and DIY planners who want to sketch a room layout, arrange furniture and inspect a design in 3D or AR across desktop and mobile. Its product catalog and configurable views are useful for exploring room furnishings, though the stated features focus on planning and products rather than paint selection or surface-specific colour matching.

The Rubens tools are a more natural fit for retailers and product businesses that need online configuration, e-commerce connections or links to business and production systems. Custom configurator creation calls for technical knowledge, so it is not simply an extension of the no-special-training Floorplanner.

Pros and cons

Pros: 2D/3D planning, floor plan imports, a large product catalog, AR visualization and synchronization across web, iOS and Android are listed.
Pros: Rubens supports product configuration, e-commerce connections, business-system integrations and structured API outputs.
Cons: Custom configurators require technical knowledge, according to Roomle.
Cons: The available feature details do not describe paint or coating previews for real walls, floors or other surfaces.
Cons: The pricing note’s €850/mo starting point does not match the stated annual prices for Levels 1–3, and the relationship between them is not explained.

Verdict

Roomle brings floor planning, furniture selection and 3D/AR visualization together across web and mobile, making it relevant for people mapping out a room before furnishing it. Its deeper feature set—product configurators, APIs and business-system integrations—is geared toward companies selling configurable products. For a DIY painter seeking guidance on paint, stain or coating colours for a real surface, the stated features leave an important gap: Roomle’s described tools are for room and product planning, not surface-specific finish visualization.
