For a class, demo table, or maker event, short 3D prints make it possible to hand someone a finished object without waiting through a long build. John Abella’s Make: collection, “10 Great Short Prints,” groups ten quick projects spanning useful accessories, toys, and printer demonstrations. Make: frames them as prints that take 30 minutes or less, while its project page separately lists an overall estimate of 1–3 hours; neither figure guarantees a particular print time on your machine.
What to expect from these short prints
The collection is for moments when a quick, repeatable object is more useful than a large overnight job. Make: notes that its 3DP Test Team had tested printers running 40 hours or more on objects that filled their maximum build area. That is a 2014 source-reported example, not a current benchmark for every printer. The original project page lists the tools as a 3D printer “of any kind,” marks difficulty Easy, and gives a $0–$50 price range; those are page metadata, not guarantees about equipment, materials, or costs today.
