Slidesgo’s “2024: Year of the Dragon Presentation” is the template this title refers to. Slidesgo describes it as a free, editable deck for Google Slides, Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint; its page says free users must keep the credit slide to attribute Slidesgo. Check the live template page for current access and terms.
Where to find the template and what it supports
The Slidesgo page names the deck “2024: Year of the Dragon Presentation” and lists three editing platforms:

When the 2024 Year of the Dragon began
The Chinese lunisolar calendar’s 2024 Year of the Dragon began on February 10, 2024. It was the Year of the Wood Dragon; the following Year of the Snake began January 29, 2025. These dates come from the Congressional Research Service fact sheet, while the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art identifies the 2024 zodiac-element pairing as Wood Dragon.

How to add accurate cultural context to a presentation
Explain what the zodiac year means
The Chinese calendar combines twelve earthly branches, associated with zodiac animals, and ten heavenly stems, associated with five traditional elements, in a 60-year cycle. The dragon is the only legendary animal in the twelve-sign cycle. In Chinese cultural symbolism, it is associated with power, luck, creativity, strength, wisdom, and prosperity; these are cultural associations, not predictions about a person’s character or fate. Open University OpenLearn discusses the dragon’s place in the zodiac and its symbolism, and the Smithsonian describes its associations with power, luck, and creativity.
Distinguish Lunar New Year observances
Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, is not a universal name for every community’s Lunar New Year observance. The Congressional Research Service notes that customs vary across countries and regions. Its fact sheet describes Chinese New Year as a 15-day festival; OpenLearn explains that Spring Festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month and ends on the fifteenth, associated with the Lantern Festival, also called Yuanxiao Festival.

Other communities have their own traditions and zodiac variations. For example, the CRS notes that Vietnamese zodiac usage differs from the Chinese sequence, including the buffalo, cat, and goat in place of the Chinese ox, hare, and sheep. If a presentation is for a broad audience, name the specific tradition being discussed rather than treating the observances as interchangeable.
Use greetings and symbols with context
OpenLearn describes red as a prominent color in Chinese New Year decorations, including paper cut-outs and couplets with themes such as happiness, wealth, and longevity. It gives these common greetings:

- 新年快乐 (xīn nián kuà lè): “Happy New Year.”
- 新年好 (xīn nián hǎo): “Happy New Year.”
- 恭喜发财 (gōng xǐ fā cái): “Wishing you a prosperous New Year”; particularly used in Cantonese-speaking communities and business circles.
- 龙年快乐 (lóng nián kuà lè): “Happy Year of the Dragon.”
Because the Dragon year was in 2024, this greeting is best used in material specifically about that year rather than as a current-year greeting.

Make the deck work for your audience
- Keep the Slidesgo credit slide if using the free version, as the publisher’s page requires.
- Check names, dates, and zodiac references against the intended community’s tradition.
- For a classroom or workplace presentation, explain that “Wood Dragon” describes the 2024 Chinese zodiac year and element, not all Lunar New Year traditions.
