What a Mid-Autumn greeting image can express
Mid-Autumn Festival is associated with family reunion and the joy of being together. In an October 6, 2025 statement, Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault described it this way: “This celebration symbolizes family unity and the joy of reuniting with loved ones.” Read the minister’s statement.
Macao’s Tourism Office describes mooncakes, lanterns, dinner, moon viewing and picnics among the festival’s customs. Those traditions offer natural imagery for greetings: a bright moon for togetherness, a lantern for celebration, or mooncakes shared around a table. The name “Mooncake Festival” is also used by Macao’s tourism authority.

Mooncakes and shared food
Mooncakes can make a greeting feel warm and celebratory, particularly when the message is about sharing a meal or wishing someone well. They are one traditional motif among several, rather than a requirement for the image to feel appropriate.

What Hong Kong’s 2025 lantern displays showed
Hong Kong’s Community Programmes Office documented a Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival at Victoria Park from September 30 through October 7, 2025. Its displays were lit from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with hours extended to midnight on October 6. A separate display at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza ran from September 25 through October 19, 2025, as part of the Chinese Culture Festival.
These events provide examples of public festival imagery and lantern-making traditions, not a verified collection of downloadable greeting graphics. The Victoria Park programme also included sports mascots and the National Games: those were elements of Hong Kong’s 2025 local programme, not standard Mid-Autumn symbols.
