42. Sticker eggs

Safety and cleanup checklist
- Read every label. Use art materials for their intended purpose and follow the manufacturer’s age and handling directions. When relevant, look for the ACMI AP seal; it indicates that an art material was evaluated by a board-certified toxicologist for intended use. It does not make an activity risk-free and does not replace supervision.
- Keep supplies in their original containers. Do not transfer paint, glue, slime ingredients or other products into food containers.
- Prevent eating and drinking during craft time. This is especially important with salt dough, dry pasta, small decorations, shaving cream and slime.
- Control small parts. Pom-poms, googly eyes, buttons, beads and tiny stickers can be choking hazards. Choose larger materials for young children and supervise closely.
- Make tool tasks adult tasks. Adults should handle sharp scissors, craft-knife work, hot glue, potato cutting, difficult cardboard cuts and the oven.
- Use paint carefully. “Washable,” “non-toxic” and age-suitable are product-specific claims, not assumptions to apply to every brand. Check the label. For example, some toddler paints are specifically labeled washable, AP-certified and suitable from 12 months, but that does not establish the same claims for unrelated paints.
- Clean promptly. Wash children’s hands, wipe the table and rinse reusable tools and work areas after crafting. Let painted and glued projects dry where children and pets cannot disturb them.
For a calmer session, set out only two or three choices, pre-cut the adult-only pieces and place each child’s project on a labeled tray. The goal is the making: an uneven bunny, paint-covered handprint or lopsided egg is still a successful Easter craft.

Yes, but an adult should supervise closely and handle cutting, hot glue, baking, small parts and difficult setup. Read product labels, prevent eating or drinking during craft time, and wash hands, tools and work surfaces afterward.
What is the best way to manage messy Easter crafts?
Use a washable table covering, limit the number of supplies on the table, keep rinse water and paper towels ready, and move wet projects to a labeled tray. For shaving cream, slime and salt painting, plan a dedicated cleanup immediately afterward.
The Bottom Line
For the easiest start, choose sticker eggs, sponge-painted eggs or a paper-plate bunny. For a keepsake, make a handprint chick, bunny or sheep. For a bigger project, try an egg wreath, suncatcher or salt-dough ornament—and let the child’s process matter more than the finished shape.
