Canva introduced its Creative Operating System in 2025 as a connected set of design, AI, marketing and brand tools—not as one standalone AI feature. This guide explains what Canva says it includes, where the new tools fit into creative workflows, and what remains uncertain about access and performance.

Canva uses “Creative Operating System” to describe a broader product direction combining an upgraded Visual Suite, design-oriented AI, and tools for marketing and brand workflows. The announcement called it the company’s biggest product launch to date; that is Canva’s characterization, not an independent comparison.

The launch announcement’s subtitle describes “a supercharged Visual Suite, world-first design AI, plus powerful ways to grow your business and scale your brand.” “World-first” is Canva’s own claim. The reviewed sources do not independently establish that the Design Model is the first of its kind.
What does the upgrade include?
Canva’s announcement describes additions for video, forms and data, interactive publishing, email design, AI-assisted creation, marketing and brand management, plus the Affinity application. The table summarizes the stated workflows without implying that every feature has the same access rules.

What is Canva’s Design Model?
Canva says its Design Model is intended to understand the parts and relationships in a design—such as layers, hierarchy, branding and visual logic—and produce editable content. Canva presents this as different from generating only a flat image.
Editability can matter when a creator needs to revise text, colors, spacing or individual objects after generation. However, the reviewed sources offer no independent evaluation of output quality or editability. Consider the design-aware capability a product claim from Canva and test it against the revisions your own workflow requires.
What’s new in Canva Video 2.0?
Canva describes Video 2.0 as a redesigned editor with a timeline for syncing, trimming and layering footage. Its Magic Video tool takes uploaded clips and a description of the intended creative direction to make a social-ready cut. Can Canva create websites and forms?

Does Canva Email Design send campaigns?
The launch announcement describes creating email designs from templates or AI-generated starting points, refining copy, previewing desktop and mobile versions, sending a test email, and exporting HTML for another platform. It does not establish that Email Design independently sends campaigns.
If a separate email service remains part of your workflow, Canva’s stated HTML export may support a design handoff. Verify the requirements of the platform that will send the campaign.

What does Canva Grow do?
