Design Space’s sign-in loop is not necessarily fixed by reinstalling. Reset the Cricut ID password, update the official app, clear its LocalData cache, verify platform support, and check security software before escalating to Cricut.
Reinstalling Cricut Design Space is not always enough to fix a sign-in loop. The loop can be caused by an account-session problem, an outdated app or certificate, cached application data, an unsupported operating system, or antivirus/security software interfering with Cricut’s connection. Work through the fixes below in order; stop when sign-in works.

Start with the account rather than reinstalling again. Cricut uses the same Cricut ID and password for cricut.com and Design Space.

- On the Design Space sign-in screen, select Forgot password?
- Enter the email address associated with your Cricut account.
- Open the password-reset email and create a new password.
- Return to Design Space and sign in with the new password.
If the reset email does not arrive after a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. If it still does not arrive, contact Cricut Member Care rather than repeatedly requesting resets.
2. Install the newest official version of Design Space
A reinstall can leave you with the same outdated installer or an application build affected by a certificate change. Download the current desktop version directly from Cricut’s official Design Space site—not from a third-party download page—and install it over the existing copy.
On Android, Cricut’s guidance is to uninstall Design Space and install the latest version again. For some documented iOS login failures, Cricut directs users to Member Care instead of offering a separate local repair.

After updating, restart the computer or mobile device before trying to sign in again.
3. Clear Design Space’s LocalData cache
This is the step most likely to be missed after an ordinary uninstall. Design Space’s local cache may remain on the device, so reinstalling can simply recreate the same broken session or loading state.
Windows
- Quit Design Space completely. If it remains in the system tray, right-click its icon and choose the option to quit or close it.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to your user folder.
- Open
.cricut-design-space, then openLocalData. - Delete the contents of
LocalData. - Do not delete the parent
.cricut-design-spacefolder and do not remove unrelated files. - Launch Design Space.
- In the app, select View > Force Reload.
If you cannot see .cricut-design-space, make sure you are looking in your own Windows user folder and that hidden items are visible in File Explorer.

Mac
- Quit Design Space.
- In Finder, reveal hidden files if necessary.
- Open your home folder, then open
.cricut-design-spaceandLocalData. - Move the contents of
LocalDatato the Trash. - Empty the Trash.
- Open Design Space and select View > Force Reload.
Clear only the contents of LocalData. Do not delete the parent folder or other application folders. Clearing the cache does not prove that the cache was corrupted; it simply removes stale local application state that can interfere with loading and authentication.
4. Check whether your device is supported
According to Cricut’s current system guidance, the listed minimum platform versions are:

Cricut does not support Chromebooks or Unix/Linux computers for Design Space. Internet access is required for installation and sign-in.
On Windows, also check that Design Space is not being run in compatibility mode. Right-click the Design Space shortcut, choose Properties, open the Compatibility tab, and make sure compatibility mode is not enabled unless Cricut specifically instructs you to use it.
If your operating system is below the supported version, updating the app alone may not resolve the loop.

5. Test the connection without weakening your security
Antivirus software, firewalls, proxy tools, VPNs, web filters, and corporate or school network security can block legitimate Cricut files or interfere with the secure connection used during sign-in.

- Temporarily disconnect from a VPN or proxy, if you use one.
- Try a different trusted network, such as a personal hotspot, to determine whether the current network is filtering the connection.
- Check your antivirus or firewall’s blocked-app and quarantine lists.
- Add Cricut Design Space to the security product’s allowed-app or exception list if your security software has blocked it.
- Restart Design Space after changing an allowlist or firewall rule.
Do not permanently disable antivirus protection, leave the firewall off, or download unofficial “login fix” files. If your security software reports that a Cricut file is suspicious, use its documented allowlist process and scan the computer rather than ignoring the warning.
6. Treat an unexpected certificate as a security warning
Cricut has documented cases in which secure web traffic is routed through third-party software or equipment. If a browser or security product shows that the certificate for Cricut is issued to an unexpected organization, do not simply approve it and continue.
Run a reputable malware scan and review recently installed antivirus, proxy, VPN, parental-control, or web-filtering software. If you cannot determine why the connection is being intercepted, consult a qualified computer repair technician. This is an escalation step for abnormal certificate information—not a normal requirement for every Design Space sign-in problem.

If possible, sign in with the same Cricut ID on another supported Windows, Mac, iOS, or Android device. This test helps separate an account problem from a device problem:
- The account works on another device: the original device’s cache, operating system, network, or security configuration becomes more likely to be involved.
- The account fails on every supported device: an account or Cricut service issue becomes more likely.
This comparison is useful evidence, but it is not by itself a confirmed diagnosis. Do not buy a new Cricut machine, cutting mat, blade, USB cable, Bluetooth adapter, or laptop just because Design Space will not complete sign-in. None of those items addresses the documented causes of an authentication loop.

If the loop remains after the password reset, current app installation, cache clearing, platform check, and security review, contact Cricut through its current official Design Space assistance or Member Care page. Cricut’s available phone, chat, and email channels and their hours can change, so use the current contact information shown by Cricut rather than an old support number found in a forum post.

Include:
- Whether you use Windows, Mac, iPhone/iPad, or Android
- Your exact operating-system version
- Your Design Space version, if you can view it
- Whether you can sign in successfully to your Cricut account through a web browser
- Whether the loop occurs immediately after clicking Sign In or after a loading screen
- Whether the same account works on another supported device
- Whether you cleared
LocalData, force-reloaded the app, updated Design Space, and checked security software - Any exact error message, certificate warning, or antivirus detection
That information gives support a useful starting point and avoids another cycle of uninstalling and reinstalling without addressing the underlying cause.
What the result tells you

Frequently Asked Questions
The loop may be caused by a Cricut ID session or password problem, an outdated Design Space build or certificate, stale LocalData cache, unsupported device software, or antivirus, firewall, proxy, or VPN interference. The symptom alone does not identify one cause.
Why does Cricut Design Space keep returning me to the sign-in page?
Not necessarily. Design Space’s LocalData cache can remain after an ordinary uninstall. Quit the app, delete only the contents of the LocalData folder, relaunch Design Space, and use View > Force Reload.
Will uninstalling and reinstalling Cricut Design Space clear the problem?
Cricut does not support Chromebooks or Unix/Linux computers for Design Space. The listed minimums in the current guidance are Windows 10 or later, macOS 12 or later, iOS 17 or later, and Android 10 or later.
Can I use Cricut Design Space on a Chromebook or Linux computer?
