The best drawing software for GAOMON depends on what you create. Krita is the best free choice for painting, Clip Studio Paint is strongest for comics and manga, Photoshop is the broadest paid raster editor, GIMP is a free image-editing alternative, and Inkscape is made for vector artwork. GAOMON tablets need a separate model-specific driver and creative application.
GAOMON tablets work with many popular drawing programs, but GAOMON does not require—or generally include—a proprietary art app. A typical setup is to connect the tablet to a compatible computer, install the driver for the exact GAOMON model, and then install a separate program such as Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, or Inkscape.

Which GAOMON drawing program should you choose?
Choose Krita for free digital painting
Krita is the strongest default recommendation for a GAOMON owner who wants to paint, sketch, illustrate, design concepts, or make comics without paying for software. It is built around digital art rather than general image manipulation and includes brush engines, layers, stabilizers, color tools, assistants, animation features, and comic-oriented functions.
Krita documents support for pressure-sensitive tablets and provides a Tablet Tester plus pressure-curve controls. On Windows, it can receive tablet input through either WinTab or the Windows 8+ Pointer/Windows Ink path. If pressure is missing, changing this setting is one of the most useful troubleshooting steps.

Krita is not guaranteed to work perfectly with every non-Wacom tablet in every configuration. Tablet behavior depends on the operating system, GAOMON driver, input protocol, and application settings. Nevertheless, Krita is a defensible pairing because both Krita’s documentation and GAOMON’s compatibility guidance address pressure-sensitive tablet use.
Choose Clip Studio Paint for comics and manga
Clip Studio Paint is the best fit when your main goal is manga, webcomics, illustration, or 2D animation. It offers comic-panel tools, page management, speech balloons, perspective rulers, pose and 3D references, specialized inking brushes, and features designed around sequential art.
Its current requirements call for a pressure-sensitive tablet and stylus. On Windows, it supports tablets using Wintab or the Windows Ink platform. GAOMON lists Clip Studio Paint as a compatible application, but you should not interpret that as certification for every GAOMON model. Confirm the exact model, operating system, and current software requirements before purchasing a paid license.
Choose Photoshop for an all-purpose paid editor
Photoshop is a good choice if your GAOMON will be used for both drawing and broader image work. It handles painting, photo correction, compositing, masks, retouching, typography, and production workflows in one application. Adobe documents pen-pressure controls for functions such as brush size and opacity.

Photoshop compatibility has two separate parts: the tablet must provide usable input, and the computer must meet Adobe’s current Photoshop requirements. A GAOMON being recognized by Windows or macOS does not by itself mean that an older computer meets Photoshop’s RAM, storage, graphics, or operating-system requirements. Check Adobe’s current desktop requirements before subscribing.
Choose GIMP for free raster editing
GIMP is a capable free alternative for raster image editing and layered illustration. It supports pressure-sensitive tablet controls and is useful for selections, masks, retouching, transformations, and image manipulation. It is generally less focused on painting and comics than Krita, so Krita is usually the easier starting point for a person whose priority is brush-based art.
Choose Inkscape for vector artwork
Inkscape is the right choice when you need logos, icons, diagrams, lettering, or other artwork that must scale cleanly. It uses paths and vector objects rather than treating the canvas primarily as a grid of painted pixels. A GAOMON can supply pointer input—and pressure input where the application and tool support it—but buying a pressure-sensitive tablet does not turn Inkscape into a raster painting application.
Does GAOMON come with drawing software?
Generally, no. GAOMON tablets are computer input devices, not standalone drawing systems, and GAOMON says its products do not include a pre-installed drawing program. You normally need three separate components:

A pen display may show the computer’s canvas on its screen, but it still normally relies on the connected computer and installed software. Do not assume that a GAOMON pen display can draw independently like a standalone tablet computer unless the specific product documentation says so.
How to set up drawing software with a GAOMON tablet
1. Identify the exact model
Find the model name on the tablet, box, invoice, or the label on the back. “GAOMON” is not enough: drivers and cables can differ between models and between pen tablets and pen displays.
2. Install the official model-specific driver
Download the driver from GAOMON’s official driver page, selecting the exact model and your operating system. Avoid unrelated third-party driver packages as your first installation. A mismatched driver can cause missing pressure, incorrect screen mapping, non-working express keys, or a device that is not detected at all.
3. Remove conflicts when necessary
If another tablet brand’s driver is installed, it can compete with the GAOMON driver. Remove or disable conflicting tablet software when appropriate, then restart the computer and install the GAOMON driver again.

4. Complete macOS permissions
On macOS, GAOMON’s installation instructions require the application and its driver components— including TabletDriverAgent—to receive the required accessibility or security permissions. Follow the prompts in the GAOMON application. GAOMON also describes using an express key to trigger the permission workflow on some setups. If the driver is installed but the pen does nothing, review macOS privacy and security settings rather than immediately reinstalling the art program.
5. Confirm the device in the GAOMON driver
Open the GAOMON driver before launching the drawing application. It should identify the tablet as connected. Check pen-button assignments, express keys, active-area or display mapping, and calibration where those controls are available.
6. Test in the art application
Open a new document and test all of the following:
- Whether the cursor follows the pen accurately.
- Whether light and heavy strokes produce different widths or opacity.
- Whether pen buttons perform the expected actions.
- Whether the tablet maps to the correct monitor.
- Whether the display cursor is calibrated, if you use a pen display.
- Whether express keys work inside the application.
If the tablet moves the cursor but pressure does not work, the hardware connection is not necessarily the problem. The application may be using a different tablet-input protocol than the driver or operating system.
GAOMON pressure sensitivity not working in Krita
On Windows, Krita can use either WinTab or Windows Ink/Windows 8+ Pointer input. A mismatch between the GAOMON driver setting and Krita’s selected input path can leave you with a functioning cursor but uniform brush pressure.

- Open Krita’s tablet settings and note whether it is using WinTab or Windows 8+ Pointer.
- In the GAOMON driver, try the corresponding Windows Ink setting if available.
- Restart Krita after changing the input method.
- Use Krita’s Tablet Tester to check whether pressure data is reaching the application.
- Test a default brush before troubleshooting a custom brush preset.
Do not change several unrelated settings at once. Testing one input path at a time makes it easier to identify whether the problem is the driver, the application protocol, a brush preset, or the connection.

If you still need the hardware, compare GAOMON drawing tablets and pen displays by tablet type, active area, screen size, connection method, shortcut keys, portability, and whether you want to draw directly on the display. A screenless pen tablet is often less expensive and works well once you learn hand-eye coordination; a pen display is more immediately familiar because the pen touches the visible canvas, but it needs desk space, power, and a compatible computer connection.
For existing owners, replacement parts can solve problems that look like software failures. A worn nib may feel inaccurate or scratchy, while a damaged or incompatible cable can cause intermittent disconnects or prevent the display from powering on. Before buying GAOMON replacement pen nibs or a GAOMON tablet replacement cable, match the accessory to the exact model. A 3-in-2 cable, pen nib, or stylus is not automatically interchangeable across the GAOMON range.

On Windows, a general driver-maintenance utility may be relevant only after you have installed and tested the official GAOMON driver.
