UCEED 2026 registration is closed, not underway. IIT Bombay’s final late-registration deadline was November 10, 2025, and the examination was held on January 18, 2026. The separate participating-institute BDes application window also ended on April 10, 2026.
This update reflects the official 2026 schedule as of August 12, 2026. For the next cycle, use the official UCEED website and its new brochure rather than an old “apply now” page.
UCEED 2026 registration is closed. IIT Bombay opened applications on October 1, 2025, extended regular-fee registration to November 5, 2025, and accepted late registrations only until November 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The exam was held on January 18, 2026, so there is no current UCEED 2026 application window in which a new candidate can apply.

Can you apply for UCEED 2026 now?
No. A candidate who did not register by the final November 10, 2025 deadline cannot newly register for UCEED 2026 based on IIT Bombay’s published schedule. The original October 31, 2025 date appearing on some older pages is also not the final deadline: IIT Bombay extended regular-fee registration to November 5 and late registration to November 10 at 5:00 p.m.
Do not submit personal information or payment through a third-party page claiming that UCEED 2026 registration is still open. The official schedule does not show a new 2026 application window or a further extension.
What happened after registration?
The UCEED 2026 examination took place on January 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. IIT Bombay’s schedule listed the following post-examination milestones:
- January 20: draft answer key and candidate responses released.
- January 28: final Part-A answer key released.
- February 5: Part-A cutoff announced.
- March 6: results announced.
- March 10 to July 31: score cards available for download.
If you sat UCEED 2026 but did not download your score card before July 31, contact the UCEED office or check the official candidate portal for any account-specific assistance. Availability after the published date should not be assumed.
What UCEED scores are used for
UCEED is the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. Its scores are used in admission to BDes programmes at the participating institutes:
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Guwahati
- IIT Hyderabad
- IIT Indore
- IIT Roorkee
- IIITDM Jabalpur
Qualifying for or taking UCEED does not by itself complete admission to one of these institutes. Candidates must also complete the separate BDes application and admission process when that window opens.

Did the UCEED 2026 BDes application window also close?
Yes. For qualified UCEED 2026 candidates applying through the participating-institute BDes process, the application portal opened on March 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and closed on April 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Therefore, a student who took UCEED 2026 but did not submit the separate BDes application by April 10 should not assume that a UCEED score alone creates an active admission application.
Participating institutes and result-sharing institutes are different
The joint BDes admission process for the participating institutes should not be confused with the separate group of institutions that receive or use UCEED results. The official UCEED information also lists result-sharing institutes such as BITS Design School, FLAME University, Mahindra University, and Jain (Deemed-to-be-University), among others.
These institutions may have their own application forms, deadlines, eligibility rules, and selection procedures. Anyone interested in one of them should check that institution’s own admissions website rather than treating the IIT Bombay BDes schedule as a universal deadline.

Who was generally eligible for UCEED 2026?
The 2026 brochure generally allowed candidates who had passed Class XII or an equivalent examination in 2025, or who were appearing for the first time in 2026, subject to all requirements in the official brochure. Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities streams could be eligible; a Science background was not generally required solely to sit the examination.

Eligibility rules are cycle-specific. Future applicants should read the brochure for their own examination year instead of carrying the 2026 eligibility wording forward unchanged.
What were the UCEED 2026 fees?

Applicable service or payment-processing charges were extra. A ₹500 late fee applied during the late-registration period. These amounts applied to the 2026 cycle and should not be assumed to be the fees for the next examination.
If you missed UCEED 2026
- Do not look for a reopened 2026 form. The published late deadline has passed.
- Monitor the official UCEED website for the next cycle. The next brochure will establish its own registration dates, fees, eligibility rules, and examination schedule.
- Prepare using official material. IIT Bombay provides past question papers and answer keys, which are the best starting point for understanding the actual format and standard.
- Check institute-specific admissions separately. For result-sharing institutes and future BDes options, use each institution’s current admissions information.
Optional preparation resources for the next cycle
The official past papers and answer keys should come first because they are free and directly connected to UCEED. A commercial book is optional, not an IIT Bombay requirement. Students who prefer working from a printed compilation can look for a UCEED previous year solved papers book covering both Part A and Part B practice.
Before buying, check the edition, years covered, solution quality, and whether the content reflects the latest available pattern. No commercial book should be described as an official IIT Bombay publication, essential for qualification, or guaranteed to improve a rank. Availability, price, stock, and seller details should be verified at the time of purchase.
For drawing practice, a basic sketchbook and pencils may also be useful, but UCEED does not require readers to buy a particular brand or grade of stationery. The important preparation resource is deliberate practice with the official question papers and a clear understanding of the current brochure.

For a future application, use the official UCEED website and the brochure for that specific cycle. Do not rely on an old 2026 registration link, an uncorrected October 31 deadline, or a page that does not identify a current official application window.
