Can anyone use Adobe Firefly to create a five-second 1080p video for free, and is it unlimited? Not exactly. Adobe lists limited daily generations for free access, while paid plans offer different monthly credits and video capacities. At Adobe’s listed rate of 100 credits per second for 1080p/24 fps video, five seconds calculates to 500 credits; that is a calculation from Adobe’s published rate, not a guaranteed charge for every generation.
Adobe’s Premium plan lists unlimited Generate Video access using the Firefly Video Model. That entitlement is model- and feature-specific, not a promise of unlimited access to every model or Firefly feature.
What Adobe Firefly offers
Firefly’s Generate Video workflow creates short video clips from prompts. Adobe’s plan comparison describes plan capacities in five-second videos, and its credit FAQ lists the rate for Generate Video at 1080p and 24 frames per second.

Adobe announced its Firefly Video Model in February 2025. The launch announcement is historical context; current plan and credit details should be checked on Adobe’s Firefly plans page and generative credits FAQ.
Is the headline accurate?
- Five-second videos: Adobe lists plan capacities in five-second videos.
- 1080p: Adobe’s credit FAQ lists Generate Video at 1080p/24 fps.
- Anyone: People with eligible access can try Firefly, but availability and allowances depend on the account, plan, feature, and model.
- Free: Adobe describes free access as a limited number of daily generations. It does not publish a stable universal free-video quota in the current material reviewed.
- Unlimited: Premium lists unlimited Generate Video access using the Firefly Video Model; this should not be generalized to partner models or every video feature.
How to generate a video
Adobe’s interface may change, but the general workflow is:
- Open Adobe Firefly and sign in to an eligible account.
- Choose Generate Video.
- Check which model is selected and choose the Firefly Video Model if that is the model you intend to use.
- Enter a prompt describing the subject, action, setting, and desired visual direction.
- Select the output settings available to your account, including resolution if offered.
- Generate and review the result; further attempts may use additional credits depending on the feature and model.
- Download the clip or continue editing it in a compatible workflow.
A more specific prompt gives the tool clearer direction than a vague request. Review generated footage carefully before using it in a finished project.

Resolution, duration, and credit math
Adobe lists Generate Video at 1080p/24 fps at 100 generative credits per second. Multiplying that published rate by five seconds gives 500 credits. Treat this as an arithmetic estimate, not a guaranteed charge: Adobe says premium-feature use can depend on the model, output, and file size.

These are Adobe’s current plan-page figures, not guarantees that every generation will produce a usable clip or use an identical amount of credits. Check Adobe’s plans page and credit FAQ for current details before choosing a plan.
What “anyone” does—and does not—mean
Adobe says free users receive a limited number of daily generations across generative AI features. The number of generations, eligible features, and available models can change, so a fixed free-video quota should not be assumed.

Included access differs by plan and feature. After using an allowance, you may need to wait for a reset, use another eligible allowance, or change plans. Adobe also says unlimited access means credits are not deducted for the specified entitlement; its FAQ notes a queue limit of 20 video generations at a time.
Check the model name before relying on a plan allowance or interpreting “unlimited.” Premium’s listed unlimited Generate Video access is for the Firefly Video Model, not a blanket allowance for every model offered in Firefly.
Model choice and commercial use
Adobe states that non-beta Firefly outputs can be used in commercial projects. Its Firefly Video Model is described as designed for commercial use and trained on licensed content, including Adobe Stock, and public-domain content. These are Adobe’s statements, not a guarantee that every use of every generated clip is risk-free.

Adobe cautions that commercial-use eligibility depends on the selected model and that partner models may have different terms. Before using a clip commercially, confirm which model generated it and review the terms that apply to that model and feature. You are also responsible for rights associated with prompts and uploaded reference material.

- Adobe users who want to generate and edit within the same ecosystem;
- creators who need short clips for concepts or other projects;
- users who want a plan with a stated monthly video capacity.
Consider your needs carefully if
- you need a fixed, guaranteed number of usable clips;
- you expect every model or feature to be covered by an unlimited entitlement;
- you need to rely on a particular model’s commercial-use terms.
