Kaiber’s mobile app, launched on November 2, 2023, gave musicians and visual artists a way to turn prompts, images, videos and songs into stylized music visuals. It supported text-to-video, image-to-video, video-to-video and audio-reactive effects on iOS and Android, but it was not a one-click replacement for a director or editor.
Kaiber’s product has since changed. As of August 18, 2026, its current suite is organized around Canvas, Beat Sync and Editor. The original app’s features and pricing are therefore historical, while Beat Sync is now the most directly relevant workflow for musicians.
What Kaiber announced in November 2023
The launch was a mobile app, not a new generative model or an autonomous music-video director. Kaiber brought its existing generative-video workflow to iOS and Android and focused it on artists who needed visual material for songs, releases and social platforms.

According to TechCrunch’s launch report, users could:
- Enter text prompts.
- Upload images and animate them.
- Upload videos and transform their appearance.
- Upload music.
- Create visuals that reacted to the soundtrack.
- Choose visual styles, subjects and camera movement.
- Export in formats suited to different social platforms.
The appeal was straightforward: an independent musician could create a visualizer, teaser or lyric video without commissioning a conventional animation studio for every piece of content.
How the original generation workflow worked
Kaiber’s launch workflow transformed prompts or supplied media rather than producing a finished, conventional music video from one instruction. Users still had to decide what imagery to provide, guide the visual direction, review the results and assemble the usable material.
Flipbook and Motion
The app offered two launch animation styles:
- Flipbook: a frame-by-frame effect with a more deliberately animated, illustrated feel.
- Motion: smoother movement and transitions between frames.
Camera controls such as zooming, rotation and directional movement added visual direction. They did not necessarily solve more difficult production problems, including consistent characters, continuous story action, precise choreography, lip-sync or shot-by-shot editing.
Audio Reactivity
Users could upload their own track and use Kaiber’s Audio Reactivity feature to make visuals respond to the music. Kaiber generated or transformed the imagery; it did not need to generate the song itself. The musician remained responsible for supplying the audio and having the necessary rights to upload and distribute it.
That made the app particularly useful for abstract or stylized work: animated album art, pulsing backgrounds, surreal loops, performance visuals and short promotional clips. It was less suited to a tightly scripted video requiring the same performer or object to remain identical across many shots.

What it could realistically produce
Kaiber was most practical as a source of visual building blocks and short-form release assets. Typical uses included:
- Short music-video sequences
- Lyric videos
- Social-media teasers
- Audio-reactive visualizers
- Looping artwork, including Spotify Canvas-style content
- Concert and performance visuals
- Alternate cuts for vertical, square and landscape feeds
The launch report described a maximum duration of eight minutes and generation times of about 30 minutes. Those figures belong to the 2023 product and should not be treated as current specifications. A multi-minute music video would still require multiple generations, selection, editing and likely retries.

The launch also included a Create with feature built around music and generative styles associated with selected independent artists. The initial collaborators were Oksami—the stage name of Kaiber co-founder and CTO Eric Gao—Yung Bae and August Kamp.
Users could sample selected songs and create content using artist-associated styles. This made the feature more than a prompt box: it connected audience participation, artist discovery and generative visual experimentation. It also showed how Kaiber was trying to frame AI creation as a collaboration between artists and listeners.
Kaiber’s launch coverage also associated the company with visual work involving artists including Kid Cudi, Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda, Grimes, Wu-Tang Clan, Don Diablo and Money Man. Those references should be understood as claims attributed to Kaiber or the reporting source; they do not mean every artist endorsed the consumer app or that all of the cited work was generated entirely with Kaiber.

TechCrunch also reported a seven-day free trial with 100 credits. One credit was described as roughly one second of video, although the cost varied by feature. These plans and the credit conversion are historical, not current purchasing guidance.
The same launch coverage reported that paid users owned the videos they made, while free-account outputs were covered by a Commons Noncommercial 4.0 Attribution International License and included a Kaiber watermark. Current rights can differ, so creators should check Kaiber’s present terms before using an output in a commercial release campaign.
Kaiber’s current product: Canvas, Beat Sync and Editor
Kaiber now describes its product as a connected suite rather than primarily as the original mobile app. Its help center says that the former “Superstudio” name has been removed, while the underlying functionality remains available across the suite.
Canvas
Canvas is the generative workspace for creating and remixing images, video and audio. It can work from prompts, uploaded media and automated workflows.
Beat Sync
Beat Sync is the music-focused part of the current product. It combines supplied audio and visuals into beat-synced videos, can animate still images, generate scene-based clips, create multiple variations and add lyrics or captions.
Its documented video types include:
- Instant Cut: cuts existing media to the beat.
- Shuffle Cut: rearranges existing media into a beat-synced variation.
- Motion Cut: animates still images.
- Scene Cut: generates new clips inspired by a selected image.
Editor
Editor provides the finishing stage: sequencing clips, changing timing, adding transitions, layering audio, placing text, editing captions and exporting different aspect ratios.

How to make a current Beat Sync video
- Open Beat Sync.
- Click Make a video.
- Upload images or video clips, or use Auto-Clip to divide a longer video into shots.
- Upload a music track.
- Trim the audio to the section you want to use.
- Choose 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1.
- Select the batch size.
- Click Generate.
- Preview the resulting videos.
- Choose Edit to rearrange clips, change transitions, alter cut speed, adjust the audio or replace the music.
- Add auto-generated lyrics or custom captions if needed, then proofread them.
- Export the finished version.
The three documented formats cover vertical short-form video, landscape viewing and square social feeds. Choose the intended format early: changing aspect ratio can crop subjects near the edge of the frame.
Kaiber’s current documentation lists Beat Sync batch creation for up to two videos on Creator and up to ten on Pro. Batch size does not change the generation time for the batch, according to Kaiber. Supplying too little source media can also limit the available video types, so a useful project should begin with a reasonably varied set of images or clips.

Kaiber’s pricing guide, checked August 18, 2026, lists these plans:

The guide says Creator includes commercial-use rights, Beat Sync batch creation for up to two videos and Auto-Clip Video. Pro raises Beat Sync batch creation to up to ten videos and includes unlimited Canvases and generations. It also lists a five-day, $5 trial with 500 credits, credit rollover and additional credit packs.
Credit costs vary by model, media type and duration. A plan’s credit total therefore cannot be converted reliably into a fixed number of finished music videos. Test a short section before committing to a long project. Cancellation or downgrading takes effect at the end of the billing period, according to the pricing guide. Subscription terms may change.
Who should use Kaiber?
Kaiber is a strong fit when you already have a song and need stylized visuals quickly. It is especially useful for independent musicians who want release teasers, lyric videos, loops, visualizers, multiple social cuts or beat-synced versions without stitching together several specialist tools.

It is a weaker fit when the project depends on precise narrative continuity, reliable performer identity, accurate lip-sync, exact choreography, controlled camera blocking or frame-level compositing. A traditional editor may also be a better choice when the priority is predictable timeline control rather than generative variation.
The main trade-offs
- Speed versus control: generation reduces manual production work, but results are less predictable than filmed or conventionally animated footage.
- Accessibility versus consistency: a simplified workflow lowers the barrier to entry without matching the control of a professional VFX or compositing pipeline.
- Batch volume versus originality: multiple variants are efficient, but automated versions can feel repetitive.
- Credit pricing versus budget certainty: model, duration and media type affect usage, making the final cost difficult to predict in advance.
- Convenience versus proofreading: auto-generated lyrics and captions save time but can contain errors.
Music, copyright and commercial use
Use music you own or are licensed to use. That permission needs to cover both uploading the track to Kaiber and distributing the finished video on the intended platform. A label, publisher or distributor may impose additional restrictions, and the fact that a song can be uploaded does not automatically establish permission to use it commercially.
Check the current Beat Sync FAQ and plan terms before publishing a commercial video. Do not assume that the free-account rules reported at launch still apply—or that free output is commercially usable without restrictions.
Bottom line
Kaiber is best understood as an AI-assisted music-visual production system. Its 2023 mobile app made it easier to turn prompts, artwork, video and music into stylized clips and audio-reactive visuals. The current Canvas, Beat Sync and Editor suite goes further by combining generation, beat synchronization, batch variations and timeline finishing.
For a musician who needs fast, social-first visual content, that is a meaningful advantage. For a continuity-heavy music video requiring exact performances and production control, Kaiber remains a creative aid—not a replacement for directing, editing, animation or a full production crew.
