Figma Make became generally available on July 24, 2025. Figma’s phrase “available for everyone to try” is broadly accurate, but it does not mean every account gets unlimited use, full features, code export, or identical publishing rights. Starter users can explore Make with limits, while paid Full seats receive the broadest access.
What is Figma Make?
Figma Make is Figma’s AI-powered, prompt-to-app environment. You describe an idea, provide a Figma design or other reference material, and Make generates a functional, code-backed prototype or web experience.
It is designed for browser-based product work such as:

Make can import Figma designs and components, accept images, documents, and data files, and let you refine the result through conversational prompts. It also includes a code editor, preview and sharing tools, plan mode, and the ability to copy generated output back into Figma Design as editable layers.
This is different from Figma Design’s AI tools. Make generates functional, code-backed experiences; Figma Design AI assists with work directly on the design canvas. Figma Agent is a separate feature that works inside Figma Design and is documented as a beta feature for eligible users.
Figma announced Make’s general availability on July 24, 2025, so the announcement is no longer a new 2026 launch. The current question is what “available for everyone” means in practice.
Who can use Figma Make?
Access depends on both the Figma plan and the user’s seat type. Figma’s current access documentation describes the broad position as follows:
| Account or seat | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Starter | Can explore Figma Make with usage and feature limitations. |
| Paid Full seat | Receives the fullest functionality on supported paid plans, including code export according to Figma’s AI app-builder information. |
| Dev, Collab, and View seats | May be able to try Make in drafts, but do not receive the same access as Full seats. |
| Organization and Enterprise | Access depends partly on administrator settings for AI features and publishing. |
| K–12 Education | Currently unavailable according to Figma’s Make FAQ. |
| Higher education and bootcamp accounts | Availability can differ from K–12 education accounts and should be checked in the relevant workspace. |
Therefore, “everyone” means broad eligibility to try the tool—not identical entitlements for every Figma user. An organization administrator can also disable AI features or public publishing even when the account would otherwise appear eligible.
Is Figma Make free?
There is a free route through Figma’s Starter plan, but Figma Make is not an unlimited free AI app builder.

At the time of the current pricing information, Figma listed Starter as including 150 AI credits per day, up to 500 AI credits per month. The pricing page listed 3,000 AI credits per month for a Professional Full seat. These allowances and plan terms are changeable, so check Figma’s pricing page before making a purchase decision.
Credits do not translate directly into a fixed number of finished apps. A small prompt may use less than a major revision, and complex projects can consume credits through repeated generations and iterations. Figma’s pricing FAQ also says that additional AI credits may be purchasable.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The practical distinction is:
- Free Starter: Useful for trying Make and exploring its workflow, but limited.
- Paid Full seat: The best route to full functionality, higher credit allowances, and code export.
- Team accounts: Subject to seat assignments, workspace policies, and administrator controls.
What can Figma Make actually build?
Make can produce a working browser experience rather than only a static image. A typical workflow can include:
- Prompt-based generation from a written product idea.
- Importing a Figma file, component, library context, image, document, or data file.
- Using plan mode to review a proposed structure before generation.
- Previewing the generated interface.
- Selecting parts of the preview and requesting targeted changes.
- Editing generated code in the built-in editor.
- Connecting services such as Supabase.
- Publishing the result to a public URL, subject to account and administrator restrictions.
Figma lists Supabase support for authentication, persisted user data, and private APIs. That gives Make a path beyond static demonstrations, but a backend connection is not the same thing as a complete, secure production architecture. Authentication, authorization, secrets, database permissions, input validation, error handling, rate limiting, privacy, and security still need review.
Does Figma Make create a real app or just a mockup?
The most accurate answer is that Make can create a functional, code-backed prototype or web app. That places it between a visual mockup and a fully engineered production service.
Four different meanings of “app”
- Visual prototype: Demonstrates screens, layout, navigation, and interaction ideas.
- Functional prototype: Includes working interface behavior and potentially connected data.
- Published web app: Runs at a dedicated public URL.
- Production application: Is secure, tested, monitored, accessible, maintainable, and suitable for real users and business-critical data.
Figma’s public materials support the first three descriptions. They do not establish that every generated project is production-ready. Make can accelerate scaffolding and product exploration, but it does not automatically replace software engineering, testing, code review, deployment architecture, or security work.

- [Optimized Workflow] Kamvas pro 16 drawing monitors comprise with 6 customized express keys and a touch bar which is helpful to get access to favorite shortcuts of keywords or mouse to achieve different operations like zooming in and out, adjusting brush size, saving time and keystrokes.
- [Adjustable Stand ST200] The adjustable stand can be moved between 20 and 60 degrees to suit your working way, which helps reduce tension for your neck, shoulder, and back, and offers you the best viewing angle for drawing and typing.
- [Advanced Pen Performance]The art tablet includes a pen without battery which provides accurate and responsive performance, 60° tilt recognition, and virtually lag-free tracking. Moreover, the pen contains 2 side buttons that can be programmable to the software’s shortcuts.
Can you export the code?
Figma’s AI app-builder page says code export is available to users with a Full seat on a paid Figma plan. A free or restricted seat should not be assumed to include the same export rights.
Because export controls, supported output, and eligibility can change, verify the current control inside the Make interface and confirm your seat type before paying for a plan.
Can you publish a Figma Make project publicly?
Yes. Figma says a functional prototype or web app created in Make can be published to the public web with a dedicated URL. That is useful for demos, stakeholder reviews, and early user feedback.
There are important qualifications:
- Organization and Enterprise administrators can control website and app publishing.
- Starter users may need to publish through Figma Community before publishing to the public web.
- A public URL is not the same as private hosting or a production deployment.
- You must check whether authentication, data access, and secrets are configured safely.
- Plan-dependent controls such as password protection may affect how the published project can be shared.
Public publishing is therefore best treated as a convenient distribution method for prototypes and lightweight web experiences—not proof that the project has the operational guarantees of a conventional production deployment.
How to start using Figma Make
The current documented path is:
- Sign in to Figma.
- Open the file browser.
- Go to Drafts.
- Select Make in the upper-right area.
- Start with a written prompt, an existing Figma design, a component, a Community file, an image, a document, or a data file.
- Use plan mode if you want to review the proposed structure before code generation.
- Inspect the preview and request changes through chat or by selecting elements in the preview.
- Connect a backend service such as Supabase if your project needs authentication or persistent data.
- Publish the result or export code if your plan and seat support those actions.
For the exact current workflow, see Figma’s guide to creating a Make file.
What makes Figma Make different?
Make’s strongest advantage is its connection to Figma’s design context. A team can start with an existing design system rather than describing every visual detail from scratch. The generated result can then move back into Figma Design as editable layers.

That makes Make especially attractive when:
- The product already has Figma screens or components.
- Visual fidelity matters as much as basic functionality.
- Designers need to test a flow before developers implement it.
- Product managers want a quick browser-based proof of concept.
- A team wants to move between design layers and code-backed output.
Its trade-off is that the tool is not designed to eliminate the rest of the development workflow. Generated code may need significant cleanup, and the quality of the result can vary with the scope of the request and the number of iterations.

It is strongest for web-oriented interface work, design-to-code exploration, prototypes, and early product validation. Native mobile apps, complex authorization systems, regulated data, and long-lived production platforms require a more deliberate engineering path.
Figma Make compared with other AI app builders
There is no single best AI app builder for every project. The right choice depends on where your work begins and what you need after generation.
| Tool | More suitable when… |
|---|---|
| Figma Make | Your starting point is a Figma design and you want a visually informed prototype or web app. |
| Lovable | You want a conversational full-stack web-app workflow with backend and deployment features. |
| Bolt.new | You want a browser-based AI development environment for rapidly generating and modifying web applications. |
| v0 | You want developer-oriented React or Next.js interface generation and handoff. |
| Replit | You need a broader cloud development environment and deployment workflow. |
| Cursor | You already maintain a codebase and want AI assistance inside a developer-first coding environment. |
Use Figma Make first if your main advantage is design context. Compare it with Lovable, Bolt.new, or Replit when the priority is a more complete full-stack web workflow. Consider v0 for developer-controlled React output and Cursor for an existing codebase. For native mobile production, treat Make mainly as a prototyping option.
Should you use Figma Make?
Designers validating an idea: Figma Make is a strong fit, particularly when the screens already exist in Figma.
Best Value
- Customize Your Workflow: The 6 customizable press keys on Huion H640P drawing tablet for pc let you assign your most-used commands—like undo, zoom, brush switch, or save—so you can keep your hands on the tablet and your mind on the art. Whether you're a digital painter switching brushes, or a comic artist zooming in and out, these keys keep your workflow smooth and uninterrupted. Plus, the Huion driver lets you save different shortcut profiles for different apps, so you never have to reconfigure when switching software.
- Professional Pen Performance: Huion H640P drawing pad for computer comes with the battery-free PW100 stylus that's always ready when inspiration strikes. With 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, every light sketch, or bold stroke responds naturally to your hand—just like a real pen. The 5080 LPI resolution and 233 PPS report rate deliver lag-free, precise strokes, so you can draw confidently without second-guessing your cursor. The pen side buttons help you switch between pen and eraser instantly.
- Compact and Portable: Huion H640P computer graphics tablet features a compact, ultra-portable design at just 0.3 inches thin and 0.61 lbs light, so it slides easily into your backpack—perfect for sketching in coffee shops, taking notes in class, or editing on the go between home and studio. The 6x4 inch active area offers enough room for natural pen movements while fitting comfortably on crowded desks, or lecture hall seats.
- Stable Compatibility: Huion H640P graphic drawing tablet works seamlessly with Mac, Windows, Linux PCs, and Android smartphones/tablets (OS version 6.0 or later). Left-handed friendly, and you just need to flip the tablet and adjust the settings in the driver. Please note: H640P does NOT support iPhone/iPad.
- Move Beyond the Mouse: Huion Inspiroy H640P is a pen tablet that replaces your mouse for more natural, precise control. Freehand draw, take notes, or even play OSU—everything you do with a mouse, you can do better with a pen. The precise tip makes it ideal for detailed photo editing, graphic design, or signing PDF. Meanwhile, the ergonomic pen grip helps you avoid the strain that comes from hours of using a mouse.
Founders building a web MVP: It is worth testing, but evaluate backend ownership, authentication, security, export rights, and the path from prototype to maintainable product.
Developers seeking production code: Treat it as a design-aware accelerator, not a complete replacement for a development workflow.
Native mobile developers: It is likely a poor fit if the intended deliverable is a production iOS or Android application rather than a web prototype.
Enterprise teams: Confirm AI permissions, publishing controls, data policies, and administrator settings before adopting it.
What to check before paying
- Does your account have a paid Full seat?
- How many generations and revisions will your monthly AI allowance cover?
- Can your team export the generated code?
- Who owns the database, authentication, hosting, and deployment?
- Can your developers understand and maintain the output?
- Does the result preserve your design system accurately?
- Can the project move elsewhere if pricing or product direction changes?
- Are the generated integrations safe for the data involved?
- Do workspace permissions support your collaboration model?
- What is the production plan if the prototype succeeds?
Bottom line: Figma Make is genuinely broadly available to try, but “available for everyone” does not mean unlimited or fully featured access for every user. The meaningful question is whether you have the right plan, seat, credits, export rights, backend access, and engineering workflow for the project you want to build.
