Status checked August 16, 2026: the available official and independent evidence did not establish a confirmed, widespread DeviantArt outage. DeviantArt’s support documentation says major incidents may appear as Known Issue articles, while its surfaced sitewide-outage page describes a previous dependent-system outage as resolved. If DeviantArt works for some people—or the homepage loads but images, profiles, comments, uploads, or chat do not—the problem may be limited to a browser, extension, network, account session, or specific service.
Use the quick checks below to separate a sitewide outage from a local or feature-specific failure.
Quick fixes to try first
- Hard-refresh the page:
Ctrl + F5orCtrl + Shift + Ron Windows/Linux;Cmd + Shift + Ron macOS. - Open DeviantArt in an Incognito, InPrivate, or Private window.
- Try another browser, then temporarily disable ad blockers, script blockers, privacy extensions, and image-blocking tools.
- Confirm that cookies are enabled.
- Clear DeviantArt’s site data or browser cache.
- Test another device and connection, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
Is DeviantArt down right now?
“Down” can describe several different problems: the domain may fail to open, artwork images may be broken, profiles may render only partly, or one account feature may stop working while the rest of the site remains available.

As of the August 16, 2026 check reflected here, no confirmed sitewide outage was established. DeviantArt says larger incidents are normally documented in its major site-issue guidance, and its Known Sitewide Outages page surfaced a previous incident involving dependent systems as resolved.
Independent monitors can provide useful signals, but they are not official confirmation. One monitor recently reported DeviantArt as operational, though that result had been crawled roughly two weeks before the research date and should not be treated as a live status check for August 16.
How to check whether the failure is widespread
- Check DeviantArt’s Known Sitewide Outages and Help Center pages.
- Open both the homepage and a direct artwork page.
- Repeat the test in a private window.
- Try another device or internet connection.
- Compare independent outage reports, treating them as user-reported evidence rather than an official announcement.
A few reports do not prove a sitewide outage. Conversely, a service can be reachable generally while one image server, region, account system, or feature is failing.

When DeviantArt images are not loading
Image delivery is separate from the basic webpage. The site can open while artwork thumbnails or full-size images fail. DeviantArt’s image-loading guidance identifies browser settings, firewalls, antivirus software, extensions, internet providers, and public-network restrictions as possible causes.

These are examples identified by DeviantArt, not a guarantee that every current image request uses all of them.
Image-loading checklist
- Open the same artwork in a private window.
- Disable the ad blocker, script blocker, privacy tool, or image blocker only for testing.
- Whitelist
deviantart.comand relevant DeviantArt resources instead of leaving security protection disabled. - Check antivirus, firewall, DNS-filtering, school, workplace, or public-network rules.
- Test mobile data or another trusted connection.
- If you use a VPN or proxy, test once without it; this is a diagnostic step, not a guaranteed fix.
Do not permanently turn off antivirus or firewall protection. Re-enable any protection immediately after testing and use an exception or whitelist where appropriate.

A page showing a header but missing its body may have loaded some HTML while a stylesheet, script, or other required resource failed. DeviantArt’s general loading guidance notes that a browser may fail to load a CSS file.

Start by disabling extensions and refreshing. Then update the browser, enable cookies, clear DeviantArt’s stored cookies and cache, and test another browser and connection. If the issue occurs only on a school, workplace, hotel, or public network, its filtering policy or routing may be responsible.
For a documented profile-specific failure in which only the profile header appears, DeviantArt advises checking the ad blocker: whitelist DeviantArt or temporarily disable the extension and reload. This is one known failure mode, not proof that every profile problem has the same cause.
When uploads, comments, favorites, chat, or messaging fail
If public pages and artwork load but one action fails, do not assume the entire service is offline. A feature-specific incident, stale login session, account restriction, or permission problem may affect uploads, comments, favorites, notes, chat, notifications, or subscriptions independently.
Sign out and back in only after confirming you know the correct credentials. Test a private window, another browser, and another network. If the account action still fails while unrelated site functions work, record the exact error and report it to DeviantArt Support rather than repeatedly submitting the same action.

When content is missing or changes are delayed
A delayed submission is different from an image that cannot load. DeviantArt says server load can delay the appearance or disappearance of deviations, favorites, forum posts, comments, and other content. A cache may also continue showing an older version of a page.
Refresh, clear the browser cache or DeviantArt site data, and wait several minutes. Avoid repeatedly uploading or posting while a request may still be processing; repeated attempts can create duplicates or additional errors.
Website versus mobile app
Treat the app and website as separate paths. If the website works but the app fails, update the app and test the web version. If you reinstall the app, first make sure you have your login details and any required account-recovery method. If both app and website fail on multiple networks and devices, the evidence for a broader service or account issue becomes stronger.
Advanced network checks
After testing another connection, you can investigate DNS or routing issues. Changing DNS may help diagnose a resolver or network-specific failure, but it cannot repair a DeviantArt server-side outage and is not a universal fix. Public and managed networks may block image-delivery hosts even when the main domain is allowed.

If a different network consistently works, contact your ISP or network administrator with the affected URL, time, and error. Do not repeatedly retry a page returning 403 errors; repeated requests may worsen rate-limiting or obscure the original problem.
When to contact DeviantArt Support
Stop general cache-clearing and contact support when the problem:
- persists across multiple browsers;
- occurs on multiple devices and internet connections;
- repeatedly produces an identifiable error code;
- affects account access, uploads, purchases, subscriptions, or another critical function;
- leaves image hosts inaccessible after extensions and security filtering have been checked; or
- affects one account feature even though the wider site works.
If DeviantArt marks a Known Issue as resolved, its guidance says to clear the cache and allow 12–24 hours for the fix to synchronize before contacting support again. That window applies to a resolved major issue—not to every loading problem.

What to include in a bug report
Use DeviantArt’s troubleshooting guidance and include complete, reproducible details in the first ticket:
- exact page URL;
- username if the problem is account-specific;
- date and time, including time zone;
- browser name and version;
- operating system, device, and app version if relevant;
- whether private browsing works;
- whether extensions were disabled;
- whether another network or device works;
- the exact error text or code;
- a screenshot or screen recording; and
- the steps that reliably reproduce the problem.
DeviantArt advises submitting complete information initially and sending only one support ticket for an individual problem. Multiple duplicate tickets can make investigation harder.
