You can write and produce a complete song in 12 hours by setting a tight brief, drafting and revising the lyrics, generating a small number of full-song options, then choosing one and finishing its arrangement and master. Set The 12-Hour Brief
Before opening a generator, write down the song’s purpose and creative boundaries. A clear brief helps you judge each draft against the same target.
- Subject: What is the song about, in one sentence?
- Listener and occasion: Who is it for, and where might they hear it?
- Musical direction: Choose a genre, energy, and vocal or instrumental approach yourself. The available product information does not establish support for every genre, instrument, or occasion, so check the vendor’s current site before relying on a specific one.
- Structure: Pick a simple form, such as verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.
- Finish line: Decide what “done” means for today: a full demo, or a mastered track ready for a later review.

Follow The 12-Hour Schedule
- Hour 1 — Lock the brief. Write the one-sentence subject, audience, occasion, musical direction, and structure. Add three words for the mood and one concrete image that could appear in a lyric.
- Hours 2–3 — Draft the lyric. Write the chorus first: make its central idea understandable on first hearing. Draft verses that add details rather than restating the chorus. Use RHYMEBOOK’s rhyme tools to explore alternatives, then read every line aloud and remove phrases that feel awkward to sing. Its free plan lists limits on AI suggestions, chats, demos, and transcription, so check the current plan details if you expect to rely on those features.
- Hour 4 — Tighten the words. Mark the line that carries the song’s main idea. Check that each verse changes or deepens the situation, and that the chorus returns to the central idea. Keep a plain text copy outside the music generator so the lyric remains easy to revise.
- Hours 5–6 — Generate candidates. In Suno or Eleven Music, give the generator the subject, your chosen musical direction, the vocal or instrumental approach, and the lyric or song structure. For example: “A reflective song about leaving a familiar neighborhood; intimate lead vocal, restrained opening, fuller chorus, verse–chorus structure, bridge, final chorus. Keep the chorus focused on the image of a porch light at dusk.” This is a creative brief, not a guarantee that a particular sound or arrangement is supported; check the product’s current controls and terms. Make a few meaningfully different candidates, changing one creative choice at a time so you can tell what improved the result.
- Hour 7 — Choose one version. Compare candidates against the brief: can you understand the main idea, does the chorus feel distinct, and does the energy suit the occasion? Pick one to finish. Save the strongest alternate in case a later edit makes the selected version worse.
- Hours 8–9 — Revise the weak section. Identify one specific problem, such as a lyric that is hard to understand or a chorus that does not lift. Use a documented section-editing or replacement feature if the tool and your plan provide it. Change one thing, then listen to the surrounding sections to make sure the edit fits. Avoid rebuilding the whole track to fix one local issue.
- Hour 10 — Check the whole song. Listen from beginning to end without editing. Note only problems that affect the story, structure, or ability to hear the important lyric. Make a final correction only if it clearly improves one of those points.
- Hour 11 — Export or prepare a master. Export in a format the receiving project or platform accepts; the available facts do not establish every platform’s delivery specifications, so verify them first. If you already use a compatible DAW, Ozone can serve as an optional mastering step. Do not spend this hour learning a new mastering workflow if the arrangement still needs work.
- Hour 12 — Review and archive. Listen to the exported file, confirm it is the intended version, and save the lyric, prompt, and project or export files together. Write down any unresolved issue for a later session instead of reopening the entire arrangement.
Use Prompts That Give You Decisions To Make
A prompt should describe the song you intend to make, while leaving room to compare generated choices. These examples are starting briefs, not claims that a tool supports a particular genre, instrument, or sound.
- Story: “A song about apologizing after a long silence. The verses show specific moments; the chorus says what the singer is ready to do now.”
- Energy: “Begin restrained, make the chorus more open, and let the final chorus feel like a decision rather than a question.”
- Structure: “Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, final chorus. Keep the central phrase in the chorus.”
- Revision: “Keep the song’s story and overall direction. Make the second verse more specific and easier to understand.”
If the product does not expose the control your prompt asks for, or the result ignores it, check the vendor’s current documentation rather than assuming that wording guarantees a feature.

Handle Rights And Attribution Carefully
Use voices, samples, and other material only when you have permission to use them, and review the relevant platform terms before sharing or selling a track. Rights vary by product and plan: Suno’s free plan does not include commercial rights, and Eleven Music’s commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games.
