No. As of August 18, 2026, Procreate’s official product lineup includes Procreate for iPad and Procreate Pocket for iPhone, but no Android or Samsung edition. A Galaxy tablet or phone cannot install the genuine Procreate app, and an S Pen cannot change that operating-system limitation. If Procreate itself is essential, choose a compatible iPad; if Samsung hardware is the priority, use an Android app such as Clip Studio Paint for Galaxy.
The short answer
- Galaxy tablet: No official Procreate app.
- Galaxy phone: No official Procreate app.
- S Pen: Works in compatible Android art apps, not in an unavailable Android version of Procreate.
- Procreate Pocket: The iPhone edition, not a Samsung option.
- Procreate Dreams: A separate iPad animation app, not an Android workaround.
Procreate’s product page identifies the main app as “Procreate for iPad,” while its handbook describes an experience designed around iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. See Procreate’s official product page and the handbook introduction.
Why Procreate does not run natively on Samsung
Samsung Galaxy devices use Android or Samsung’s Android-based software environment. Procreate is distributed through Apple’s App Store for iPad, and Procreate Pocket is distributed for iPhone. The two platforms use different operating systems, app packages, stylus frameworks and distribution stores.

The S Pen is hardware. It can provide pressure, palm rejection, hover or shortcuts only when an Android application implements those features. It cannot turn an iPadOS application into an Android application.
Procreate Pocket’s official FAQ identifies Pocket as the iPhone version. Procreate Dreams’ FAQ identifies Dreams as a separate iPad app for animation and motion graphics.
What you may find in the Galaxy Store
A search for “Procreate” can return iPad or iPhone references, alternative-art-app articles, advertisements, or unrelated applications. The most common legitimate Galaxy Store confusion is Clip Studio Paint for Galaxy. It is a separate product, not Procreate with a Samsung name or interface.
Clip Studio’s Galaxy documentation confirms that its Galaxy version is available from the Galaxy Store. It has its own brushes, file workflow, interface and licensing terms.

No. An APK using the Procreate name is not proof of an official release. An unofficial package may be altered, unsafe, unsupported or improperly licensed. Potential risks include malware, credential theft, unwanted permissions, payment fraud, crashes and the loss of updates.

- Do not enter an Apple ID, Google account, Samsung account or payment details on an unofficial download page.
- Do not assume that an APK that launches has official compatibility or access to Procreate’s brushes, cloud services or support.
- Install art software from the developer’s official site or the device’s verified app store.
Can an emulator or remote connection make Procreate work?
Emulation
Running an iPad or iOS application is not a normal, supported Android workflow. An emulator that claims otherwise cannot provide official licensing, reliable pen behavior or guaranteed compatibility.
Remote access
You can remotely control an iPad or computer from a Samsung device, but Procreate would still be running on the remote Apple hardware. Network latency, pressure loss and extra equipment make this remote-control setup unsuitable as a true local workflow.
File transfer
A Samsung device can receive exported images from an iPad. Receiving a PNG or JPEG does not make the Samsung device compatible with Procreate’s editable documents.
What the S Pen can—and cannot—do
Samsung’s stylus can be excellent for Android drawing, but every behavior is application-dependent. Pressure curves, tilt, palm rejection, hover, shortcut buttons and Air Actions vary by app and device.
Clip Studio’s documentation lists Samsung Galaxy S Pen models among tested pressure-sensitive pens for Galaxy and Android: S Pen pressure support and Android smartphone stylus guidance. That support does not reproduce Procreate’s gestures, brush engine, file behavior or interface.

Clip Studio Paint for Galaxy
Clip Studio is the strongest documented choice when you need comics, production illustration, many layers, vector-like line control or animation on a Galaxy device. Its current device list separates tablets and smartphones by resolution and intended workload: check the maintained Galaxy compatibility list.
For Android, Clip Studio lists Android 13 or later, at least 4 GB of memory and at least 6 GB of free storage. Its guidance recommends 6 GB of memory for Samsung smartphones and 8 GB for Samsung tablets for more demanding work. These are Clip Studio requirements, not universal requirements for every art app: Android requirements.

Unlike Procreate for iPad’s no-subscription positioning, Clip Studio states that Galaxy, Android, iPhone and iPad activation uses annual or monthly plans. Plan tiers and regional prices can change; review the current licensing notice before subscribing.
Infinite Painter
Infinite Painter is worth considering when a reader wants a painting-first Android interface rather than a production suite. Verify current Galaxy distribution, S Pen behavior, export formats and pricing on the developer’s site, Infinite Studio.
SketchBook
SketchBook is a practical option for sketching and general drawing. Its Android documentation includes Samsung S Pen support: SketchBook’s official documentation. Confirm current Android availability and premium features in your region.

Krita
Krita suits artists who want a powerful, open-source-oriented tool and are willing to accept a less mobile-focused experience. Check current Android support and distribution at Krita’s official site.
Is a Galaxy Tab suitable for serious digital art?
Yes, a suitable Galaxy Tab can handle serious Android art work, but “Samsung tablet” is not one performance category. A model that is comfortable for notes may struggle with a large canvas, hundreds of layers or animation.
- Workload: Sketching, high-resolution illustration, comics and animation place different demands on memory and processing.
- Memory: More memory helps with large canvases, complex brushes and numerous layers.
- Storage: Leave room for applications, working files, backups and exported versions.
- Display: A larger screen improves layer management and reduces constant zooming.
- Compatibility: Check the chosen app’s current device list, not just the tablet’s specifications.
- Ergonomics: Weight, heat, battery life and pen latency matter during long sessions.
Clip Studio’s maintained list includes Galaxy Tab S-series models and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite among compatible devices, but the list changes. Check the live compatibility page before buying.

Choose an iPad when you specifically need
- The official Procreate app and its brush engine.
- Procreate gestures, interface and established tutorials.
- Procreate Dreams for animation and motion graphics.
- Existing Procreate documents, brushes or templates.
Procreate’s own purchase support discusses restoring purchases through the App Store on iPad, reinforcing that the product belongs to Apple’s distribution ecosystem: App Store purchase support.
Choose Samsung when you value
- Android integration, multitasking and connectivity with other Galaxy devices.
- An included or integrated S Pen on supported models.
- Clip Studio Paint and other Android-native art applications.
- Keeping an existing Samsung workflow instead of moving to Apple hardware.
Do not compare only screen size, RAM, processor or stylus specifications. The decisive question is whether your required application exists on the operating system you are buying.

Moving artwork between iPad and Samsung
Exported artwork can often move between platforms, but interchange is not the same as native editing.
- Flattened formats: PNG and JPEG preserve appearance but discard editable layers.
- Interchange formats: PSD or another format supported by both applications may retain some layers, but conversion behavior varies.
- App-specific data: Brushes, time-lapse recordings, color information, animation timelines and special effects may not transfer cleanly.
- Originals: Keep native Procreate documents and backups accessible on an Apple device if you may need to revise them later.
- Collaboration: Agree with clients on PSD, PDF, SVG, layered files or flattened images before beginning a cross-platform project.
Common situations
You already bought Procreate on an iPad
The purchase is not an Android license. Export an appropriate file from the iPad, transfer it through cloud storage, and continue in a Samsung-compatible app only after checking what remains editable. Keep the original Procreate file on the iPad or another Apple device.
You want to draw on a Samsung phone
A phone can run Android art software when it meets that app’s requirements. Clip Studio recommends a display of at least 6 inches in its Android guidance and lists Galaxy smartphones in its device material. Expect a smaller canvas, less layer visibility, more zooming and potentially greater heat or battery limits than on a tablet.
You want to connect an Apple Pencil
That does not solve the software problem. Apple Pencil support is tied to compatible Apple hardware, and a Samsung device still has no official Procreate application.
Bottom line for buyers
If your requirement is Procreate itself, buy or continue using a compatible iPad. If your priority is Samsung hardware and an S Pen, choose an Android art app based on your workload; Clip Studio Paint for Galaxy is the most fully documented professional option, while Infinite Painter, SketchBook, Krita and Samsung’s native tools serve different needs. Treat file formats, subscriptions, device memory and app compatibility as part of the purchase decision—not as afterthoughts.
