Per evitare che brillantini, paillettes e strass si stacchino, pulisci e asciuga il capo, verifica l’adesivo su una parte nascosta e applica quantità minime di colla specifica per tessuti. Lascia asciugare e polimerizzare completamente prima di indossare o lavare. La lacca può bastare per una sola serata; gli strass termoadesivi richiedono invece calore e pressione compatibili con il tessuto.
Scegli il metodo in base al tipo di decorazione

Fissare brillantini e strass con la colla per tessuti
- Lava o pulisci il capo secondo l’etichetta. Lascialo asciugare del tutto. Brother raccomanda di lavare e asciugare il tessuto nuovo prima di applicare gli strass, perché finiture superficiali e residui possono ostacolare l’adesione.
- Proteggi gli strati sottostanti. Inserisci cartone o un foglio stabilizzatore sotto la zona di lavoro per impedire alla colla di attraversare il tessuto o incollare davanti e retro del capo.
- Fai una prova nascosta. Applica una piccola quantità su una cucitura interna o su un’area non visibile. È particolarmente importante con seta, tessuti delicati e sintetici: controlla eventuali macchie, irrigidimenti o alterazioni di colore.
- Usa un punto minimo per ogni elemento. Troppa colla può fuoriuscire, lasciare aloni e incollare brillantini vicini. Scegli un adesivo dichiarato per tessuti e segui la sua etichetta.
- Posiziona e lascia il capo in piano. Premi delicatamente il brillantino senza trascinarlo. Rispetta il tempo indicato dal produttore; nella procedura descritta da Donna Moderna sono indicate almeno 24 ore di asciugatura per ogni strato.
- Aggiungi un secondo velo solo se previsto. Applicalo esclusivamente dopo la completa asciugatura del primo strato, non per compensare un eccesso di colla iniziale.
La lacca funziona davvero?
Può ridurre temporaneamente la perdita di glitter per un costume o un vestito indossato una sola sera, ma non crea un fissaggio lavabile. Donna Moderna indica di spruzzarla da circa 20–30 cm, lasciare asciugare e ripetere con più mani se necessario. Evita di considerarla una riparazione definitiva o di usarla come sostituto della colla per tessuti.

Come applicare gli strass termoadesivi
Usa il ferro soltanto con elementi il cui retro è specificamente progettato per il calore: non riscaldare glitter comuni o decorazioni non termoadesive.
- Controlla sull’etichetta del capo e nelle istruzioni degli strass che la fibra sopporti il calore. Perles & Co raccomanda di rimuovere finiture che impediscono l’adesione.
- Imposta un ferro asciutto a temperatura media, circa 140–160 °C, secondo le istruzioni del trasferimento.
- Copri il motivo con un panno sottile e premi in modo uniforme per circa 45–60 secondi per sezione, come indicato da Brother.
- Solleva e sposta il ferro senza trascinarlo. Lascia raffreddare e verifica l’adesione prima di piegare o lavare il capo.
Se il tessuto non tollera quella temperatura, scegli colla per tessuti o cucitura invece del metodo hotfix.

Quando conviene cucire le paillettes
La cucitura è indicata per paillettes e strass con fori: ago e filo creano un fissaggio meccanico che non dipende dall’adesione di una superficie. Richiede più tempo e una lavorazione ordinata, ma è una scelta pratica per capi sottoposti a lavaggi frequenti. Non forzare il passaggio dell’ago attraverso elementi privi di foro, fragili o progettati esclusivamente per l’adesivo.
Lavare un vestito con brillantini senza rovinarlo
- Rivolta il capo prima del lavaggio. È la raccomandazione esplicita di Brother per i tessuti abbelliti con strass.
- Preferisci il lavaggio a mano e asciuga il capo appeso, se l’etichetta lo consente.
- Se devi usare la lavatrice, inserisci il vestito in un sacchetto per delicati e seleziona il programma previsto dall’etichetta.
- Non usare l’asciugatrice: calore e movimento possono stressare adesivi e decorazioni.
- Riduci l’attrito tenendo separati jeans, asciugamani pesanti e altri capi ruvidi.
Conservazione dopo l’uso
Riponi il capo in piano oppure inserisci carta velina o un panno morbido tra le superfici decorate. Questa barriera limita graffi, sfregamenti e trasferimenti di glitter durante la piegatura o l’impilamento.

Quanto durerà il fissaggio?
Non sono disponibili statistiche indipendenti che stabiliscano una percentuale di distacco, un numero garantito di lavaggi o una durata comparativa per questi metodi. La tenuta dipende da fibra, adesivo, temperatura, pressione, attrito e modalità di lavaggio. In caso di differenze, prevalgono sempre le istruzioni del produttore dell’adesivo o degli strass.
