Yes—CERN’s Science Gateway lists a 373-piece Lego LHC building set designed by Nathan Readioff. It is distinct from ATLAS/CERN’s downloadable plans for making detector models with separately sourced LEGO pieces, and from LEGO Ideas proposals that were not necessarily released as retail sets.
What does “LEGO Hadron Collider” refer to?
The phrase can mean three different things: a building set listed by CERN, educational detector models you assemble from plans and parts, or a fan-created LEGO Ideas proposal. The distinction matters: a campaign or downloadable design is not automatically a packaged LEGO retail product.

CERN Science Gateway identifies a Lego LHC building set designed by Nathan Readioff. Its listing specifies 373 LEGO pieces and an age recommendation of 9+. The page displayed a price of 98 CHF when checked; price and availability can change, so confirm the current listing before purchasing.

ATLAS/CERN detector models
ATLAS and CERN provide plans and parts lists for building particle-detector models at home. These are an educational DIY option, not a box containing all the pieces. The associated model resource describes micro models of the LHC and its four main detectors, with manuals, part lists and model files.

LEGO Ideas proposals
LEGO Ideas has featured several LHC-related proposals. Nathan Readioff’s campaign page records that his proposal reached 10,000 supporters in a 2015 campaign update. Reaching that threshold means a proposal entered LEGO Ideas’ consideration process; it does not establish that the proposal became an official LEGO Ideas release. A separate LHC proposal is marked “Milestone missed,” and an ATLAS mini-model proposal describes educational use rather than a confirmed retail release.
What does the model represent?
CERN describes the Large Hadron Collider as a 27-kilometre ring using superconducting magnets and accelerating structures to boost particles. Experiments around the collider use detectors such as ATLAS to study the particles produced in collisions. That is why educational builds may focus on detector structures as well as on the collider itself.

The CERN-listed set is the clearest choice if you want a named, packaged building set. The ATLAS/CERN route is suited to a hands-on activity where you follow plans and obtain the listed pieces separately. LEGO Ideas pages are useful for seeing fan designs and their history, but should not be treated as evidence of current product availability.

- Open ATLAS/CERN’s Build Your Own (LEGO) Particle Detector resource.
- Choose a model and use its instructions and parts list to identify the pieces required.
- Check the linked files and parts list before sourcing pieces; availability and resource links may change.
- Build from the provided instructions. The DIY route is not a packaged set, so the parts list—not a box contents list—determines what you need.
For a LEGO Ideas design
Use the relevant proposal page to explore the design and campaign status. Treat it as a proposal unless the page explicitly confirms a retail release; a past support milestone alone is not proof that a set can be purchased.

CERN’s educational resources for children and teens also list LEGO detector models. For a broader build than the Science Gateway set, the ATLAS/CERN instructions and model downloads provide the most direct route to plans and parts lists.
