Shivon Zilis announced on October 2, 2026, that her relationship with Elon Musk had ended. Whether she or her children will change where they live is not known: Zilis has not publicly addressed a move, and current reporting gives no indication that she plans to leave the Austin community.
What Zilis said about the breakup
In a post on X reported by Realtor.com, Zilis described the split as sudden: “It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes.” She said she hoped she and Musk could remain “great friends and coparents.” The Washington Post and EFE also reported her announcement and stated wish to remain friends and coparents.
Will she move out of the Austin home?
There is no confirmed answer. Realtor.com reports that Zilis had not publicly said whether she or her children would change their living situation. The coverage does not indicate that she plans to leave the Austin community. That does not establish that she will stay, either; the future arrangement has not been publicly settled.

The breakup announcement alone does not establish who owns or rents any property, who has a right to occupy it, or whether custody or living arrangements will change. The available reporting does not answer those questions.

The headline figure is a reported combined value for multiple Austin properties, not a verified current valuation of one residence. Realtor.com summarizes earlier reporting that described an Austin “compound”: it attributes the original account to an October 2024 New York Times report, notes that Musk denied the compound report, and says later Wall Street Journal reporting again linked him to the Austin setup. The Realtor.com account does not independently establish current ownership, occupancy, or property value.

Realtor.com has also reported that Zilis and the children had previously been said to live in the gated Austin community and that Musk spent time there periodically. That is reporting about an earlier arrangement, not confirmation of who currently lives there or what will happen next.
Realtor.com identifies the four children as twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus. Their names are not necessary to determine the housing question: no reported statement establishes that their living arrangements are changing.
