Small sewing projects are a practical way to use the fabric you already own. AllPeopleQuilt’s Small Projects From Your Stash index, updated April 13, 2026, links to 26 free patterns, most using precuts. Check each project’s fabric requirements against your stash before choosing; the right match depends on both the fabric format and the amount available.
Start with the fabric you have
Sort your stash by format and quantity: fat quarters, half-yard pieces, charm squares, jelly roll strips, or small leftover snippets. Then look for a pattern that calls for those materials. The quantities below describe specific project combinations on the index, not universal requirements for every version of a project.

Choose by what you want to make
