Quilting in the Valley is a quilt shop in LaSalle, Illinois, profiled by Quilt Sampler in 2021. The shop’s owner, Lisa Furleigh, is also a quilt-pattern designer; her patterns include directions for both rotary cutting and AccuQuilt cutting. The available profiles document the business’s history through 2021, but do not establish its current locations, hours, or operations.
What is Quilting in the Valley?
Quilting in the Valley is the name of a quilt shop at 838 1st Street in LaSalle, Illinois, as listed in an AllPeopleQuilt profile published April 30, 2021. That profile was featured in the Spring/Summer 2021 issue of Quilt Sampler, and was credited to American Patchwork & Quilting Editors.
The profile describes a river-town business that grew from a small shop into a multi-location operation. Its account belongs to 2021: it said the business had expanded to five stores in six years and that a sixth was slated to open that year. It does not confirm that the sixth location opened.

#1 Best Overall
A C&T Publishing biography describes Furleigh as a quilter and instructor whose teaching spans foundational skills through more advanced quilting techniques. That is the publisher’s characterization of her work, rather than an independent evaluation of her classes.
Examples of patterns
A retailer catalog has listed patterns under the Quilting in the Valley designer name, including Fly Away, Zen State of Mind, Which Way Is Up, Tequila Sunrise, and Rumspringa. Catalog listings do not establish that any particular pattern is currently in stock.
Rotary cutting and AccuQuilt directions
Rotary cutting uses a handheld rotary cutter with a ruler and cutting mat; AccuQuilt cutting uses a fabric cutter and dies. Furleigh’s pattern description says her designs provide directions for both methods. Follow the instructions for the method you plan to use: the listing does not establish universal die compatibility or that the two cutting approaches can be substituted without checking a pattern’s directions.

What the older expansion reports establish
A SCHMETZ profile published February 24, 2021, and originally published in Inspired to SEW in August 2020, says Furleigh opened the LaSalle shop in 2014 and that the business had moved to larger quarters twice. It also describes plans to expand to twelve locations and forecasts stores in four cities by the end of 2020. Those are historical plans and projections, not confirmation that the milestones occurred.
The sources establish a documented history and a LaSalle address as reported in 2021. They do not establish the shop’s present store count, current address or hours, inventory, shipping terms, or availability of patterns or instruction.
