“Pin clipart” can mean either illustrations of pushpins, thumbtacks, safety pins, or clothes pins, or the website PinClipart.com. Those are not interchangeable: a picture’s file format does not tell you whether you may reuse it, and the website’s general terms do not settle the rights for every image it features. Start by identifying the specific graphic and checking its source and license.
What “pin clipart” can mean
The phrase is ambiguous. It may describe a pin-themed illustration, such as a pushpin or safety pin, or refer to PinClipart.com, a site that hosts or points visitors to clip-art images. Search listings also use phrases such as “push pin clipart” and “pin clipart PNG”; these are examples of wording, not evidence of how popular the terms are.
If you are searching for an image to use in a painting handout, poster, lesson, or other project, treat “pin clipart” as a starting point—not a rights category. Confirm that the result depicts the kind of pin you need, then review the terms attached to that particular asset.

How to check whether a pin graphic can be reused
- Identify the actual source. Note the page or seller offering the image, and check whether the image is hosted there or linked from another site.
- Match the license to your use. Look for permission covering your purpose: personal, educational, commercial, or use in a product or template. Check restrictions on resale, redistribution, and derivative works.
- Check the file format separately. PNG, SVG, and other formats describe the file, not the permissions. Make sure the format works with your software, then confirm the license independently.
- Save the applicable terms. Marketplace listings and site terms can change. Keep a record of the image page and the terms in effect when you obtain it, especially for commercial projects.
What the available pin-graphic listings permit
These examples show why terms need to be checked asset by asset. They are seller-specific descriptions, not general rules for pin clipart.
| Example | Files described | Usage terms described |
|---|---|---|
| “Push Pins – Bright Colored Thumbtacks / Drawing Pin Clip Art” on Teachers Pay Teachers | 21 individual push pins and one combined image, as PNG files with transparent backgrounds. | The seller permits personal use and commercial use in educational products or marketing materials for educational products. The listing prohibits resale or distribution as clip art and sale of derivative works as images. |
| “Pin SVG Bundle Pack, Digital Pin Clipart” on Creative Fabrica | 20 designs, each described as available in SVG, PNG, PDF, EPS, DXF, and AI formats. | The listing says the download includes a commercial license. Check the product’s current agreement for its scope and restrictions; “commercial license” alone does not mean unrestricted use. |
The examples do not establish permission for other images, even if those images depict the same kind of pin or are offered in the same format.

PinClipart.com terms are not a license for every image
PinClipart.com’s Conditions of Use state: “All Images are Copyright to Their Respective Owners!” The page also advises visitors to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of third-party sites linked from PinClipart.com. Treat that as a reason to trace an image to its source and inspect the source’s terms—not as permission to use any particular image.
Why format and license are separate
A transparent PNG can be convenient when placing a pin illustration over another background, while SVG may suit workflows that need vector artwork. Neither format grants a right to copy, modify, publish, or sell the image. For any file, verify both practical compatibility and permission for the intended use.
