The 2009 roundup titled “13 Fast And Furious Stick Figure Animations And Tutorials” is best treated as an inspiration list, not a current directory or a complete how-to. Its retrieved page text shows 12 entries—some animations, some tutorials—and does not establish that every linked example is still available. If you want to make your own stick-figure chase or fight, use the old list for ideas and a current tool such as Stick Nodes for a practical mobile workflow.

What the original roundup contains

SmashingApps published the roundup on July 23, 2009. Its introduction points to a practical advantage of simple stick figures: they can be quicker to animate than fully drawn characters. The visible titles mix finished clips with tutorial links rather than presenting a single, step-by-step course.

How to plan a stick-figure chase or fight

Keep the action readable before adding detail. A short plan helps you decide what the viewer should notice and gives each frame a purpose.

  1. Choose one clear action. For example, decide whether a car accelerates past another, skids to a stop, or escapes a pursuer. A short sequence is easier to keep coherent than several unrelated stunts.
  2. Set the direction of travel. Decide where the cars enter and leave the frame, and keep their movement consistent unless the scene clearly shows a turn or reversal.
  3. Sketch key poses. Mark the important moments—starting position, acceleration, turn, impact or near miss, and ending position—before filling in the frames between them.
  4. Make silhouettes easy to recognize. Establish the car shape and the stick figure’s pose first. Add speed lines, smoke, or other effects only after the movement reads clearly without them.
  5. Review the sequence at playback speed. If the action feels confusing, simplify the motion or make the key poses more distinct before adding more frames.

This is a practical planning approach, not a sequence demonstrated or tested in the 2009 roundup.

Make it on a phone with Stick Nodes

Stick Nodes is a mobile app for stick-figure animation on Android and iOS. Its feature descriptions list image importing, customizable frame tweening, camera movement, reusable movieclips, sounds, filters, and GIF export for both Free and Pro. The site lists MP4 export and removal of ads and watermarks as Pro benefits; check the current app listing for exact version and availability details.

A basic project can follow the same planning sequence: arrange the main poses, use tweening to create movement between frames, and adjust the camera to follow the chase. Add imported images or reusable movieclips where useful, then add sounds or filters after the animation is clear. Export a GIF for a lightweight animation; the site identifies MP4 export as a Pro feature.

Optional car assets

The Stick Nodes community listing includes a “Fast and Furious Cars Pack” with ten vehicle files, including variants labeled Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Jeep, and Subaru. This is a community upload—not evidence that the files are official film assets or licensed franchise merchandise. Check the current listing and its usage terms before using or redistributing its files. See the community pack listing.

When a 3D workflow makes sense

If your goal is a more detailed car scene rather than a quick 2D stick animation, Blender offers a different kind of project. A BlenderNation post published October 18, 2023 describes creator Leo-MediaWay’s recreation of a Fast and Furious race scene, including modeled streets, character animation, camera work, and lighting. Those components make it a useful example of a 3D extension, not a stick-figure tutorial or a beginner workflow comparison.

Try drawing frames on paper

An animation flipbook sketchbook is an optional way to practice successive poses by hand. Draw each change in position on a new page, then flip through the pages to see whether the movement reads. It is a drawing aid, not a requirement, and no particular product is endorsed here.
