Dulux India positions Velvet Touch Eterna as a luxury interior emulsion, but its official pages do not establish a dated campaign launch or report audience reach or results. The useful details for homeowners are the finish, application guidance, shade range, selected-store availability and the conditions attached to the 10-year Assurance warranty.
What is Dulux Velvet Touch Eterna?
Velvet Touch Eterna is a Dulux India interior emulsion. Dulux describes the Matt variant as having a mid-sheen finish and markets the range with a luxury positioning. Its campaign page uses the line “Experience the epitome of exquisite living with Dulux Velvet Touch Eterna. Timeless spaces deserve a Timeless touch.” That is brand copy, not an independent assessment of the paint or a report of campaign performance. Dulux product page · Dulux campaign page
Dulux promotes Tru Colour+ with antioxidants, dust resistance, high washability, a smooth finish and an added tea tree oil aroma. These are manufacturer claims; the available sources do not provide independent comparative performance tests.

Dulux’s current India product listing gives coverage of 140–160 sq ft, drying time of 4–6 hours per coat, and lists 2 coats as key product information. These are published product specifications, not a guarantee of the result on every wall: actual coverage and finish can depend on the surface and application conditions. The listing shows 1 L, 4 L, 10 L and 20 L packs. Dulux product details

How to prepare and apply it
Dulux’s directions describe a preparation system rather than simply applying paint to an untreated wall:
Rank #2
- Water Based Paint
- Excellent Washability
- Easy Touch Up | Easy Application
- Interior Finish | Tintable
- Low VOC | Eco-Friendly
- Start with a clean, dry surface.
- Apply the prescribed primer or base coat, and use putty where needed.
- Sand with 180-grit emery paper.
- Apply 2–3 top coats, allowing 4–6 hours between coats.
Dulux provides different dilution instructions for white or pastel shades and for dark shades. Consult the current product directions for the correct dilution rather than applying one ratio to every colour. The product sheet also calls for eye and hand protection, ventilation, and avoiding inhalation of vapour or spray. Follow the current label and official directions; this summary is not a substitute for them. Dulux product directions · Dulux product data sheet

What the 10-year Assurance warranty requires
Dulux advertises a 10-year Assurance warranty, but it is subject to terms and conditions. AkzoNobel India Limited’s warranty document dated June 2024 specifies a minimum purchase condition of 20 litres and makes coverage depend on the primer or base coat used. Eligibility is also tied to following the prescribed application system. Check the document and its terms for the applicable system before relying on the warranty; the phrase “10-year warranty” alone does not describe the conditions. Dulux warranty document (June 2024)

What to compare before choosing a premium interior paint
Luxury positioning does not by itself show whether a paint suits a particular room or budget. Compare practical details against other paints you are considering:
- Finish and appearance, including how the stated sheen will look in the room.
- Coverage, drying time and the number of coats specified.
- Surface preparation and the required primer or base coat.
- Shade options, checked against a physical sample.
- Warranty conditions and whether the required purchase and application system fit the project.
- Availability through local selected stores.
The official materials provide product specifications and conditions, but not an independent head-to-head comparison with other paints.
