Auscraft Painting cannot be confirmed as a currently operating renovation contractor from the available public records. The Australian Business Register (ABR) associates the trading name with Robert Verdiants but records the associated ABN, 35 156 006 452, as cancelled from 11 June 2019. An older HomeOne directory entry describes painting and several specialist surface services in Highett, Victoria, but it does not establish present availability.

If you are considering the business for a renovation, treat the listing as historical background. Verify that the contractor currently trades, confirm the exact scope and location, and obtain a detailed written quote before scheduling work or paying a deposit.
What the records establish about Auscraft Painting
The strongest identity information comes from the Australian Business Register. Its record for ABN 35 156 006 452 identifies Robert Verdiants as the associated entity and records AUSCRAFT PAINTING as a trading name from 3 February 2003. The same record shows the ABN as cancelled from 11 June 2019 and gives the main business location as Victorian postcode 3195.
#1 Best Overall
- Use for a variety of indoor and outdoor project surfaces including wood, metal, plaster, masonry or unglazed ceramic
- Water-based acrylic formula is low odor, resist chips and provides long-lasting protection
- Covers up to 120 sq ft and dries to touch in 30 minutes for quick project completion
- Semi-gloss finish minimizes surface imperfections, goes on smoothly and provides excellent hide
- Prior to application sand surfaces with 180/200 grit sandpaper, then wash with a degreaser, allow the surface to dry and apply paint
An ABN cancellation is a status entry, not an explanation of what happened to a business. It does not, by itself, tell you whether a different entity later replaced the ABN, whether the trading name was transferred, or whether any work is currently being accepted. Those points require direct, current confirmation.
The other source is a HomeOne directory listing headed “Painting: Home Painters Essendon VIC.” It places Auscraft Painting in Highett, Victoria, and describes the following historical services:
- Residential painting
- Commercial painting
- Epoxy floor work
- Concrete polishing
- Line marking
The listing also claims more than 30 years of residential and commercial painting experience. That is a statement made in an undated directory entry, treated as approximately 2016 historical material; it is not an independently verified, current performance statistic.

Is Auscraft Painting still operating?
The available evidence cannot answer that question conclusively. Before treating Auscraft Painting as an available contractor, ask for current information rather than relying on the old directory page or a search-result snippet.
Checks to make before discussing a project
- Confirm the trading entity. Ask for the legal business name and current ABN. Check that the details supplied to you match a current authoritative register entry.
- Confirm that renovation work is being accepted now. Ask whether the business is quoting new residential or commercial projects, and whether there are geographic or project-size limits.
- Verify the location and service area. Highett is the location shown by the historical directory, while the ABR record gives postcode 3195 as the main business location. Do not assume either is a current workshop, office, or service boundary.
- Request current proof of cover and credentials. Ask what public-liability insurance applies to the work and which trade, building, or site requirements apply to your project. The supplied records make no licensing or insurance claim for Auscraft Painting.
- Get a written quotation. A current quote should identify the contracting entity, work areas, preparation, products, exclusions, timing, payment stages, and follow-up terms.
If the business cannot provide a current entity and a written scope, pause the job and obtain quotes from contractors whose present status can be verified.
What services did the historical listing describe?
Residential painting
The HomeOne entry presents Auscraft Painting as a residential painter. For a renovation, that could involve rooms, ceilings, trim, doors, exterior elements, or a combination, but the listing does not specify which surfaces, preparation standards, coating systems, or building types were included. Ask the contractor to identify every surface in the quote and to state what is excluded.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCommercial painting
The same entry mentions commercial painting without defining the premises, access arrangements, working hours, protection of occupied areas, or handover requirements. A commercial quotation should address who supplies access, how dust and fumes are controlled, whether work is staged around occupants, and how defects are reported after completion.
Rank #3
- Flows on smoothly and dries to a tough, durable finish
- Fade and weather resistant
- Ideal for exterior surfaces including wood, masonry, primed metal, weathered steel and aluminum siding
Epoxy floors
Epoxy flooring is a specialist category that depends heavily on substrate condition. Before accepting it as a current offering, ask whether the contractor still performs the work and request examples comparable to your surface. The scope should identify moisture testing, crack and joint treatment, mechanical preparation, primer, resin system, number of coats, slip resistance, curing time, and the conditions under which the floor may be used again.
Concrete polishing
Concrete polishing can mean substantially different outcomes, from light refinement of an existing slab to a multi-stage grind-and-polish system with a specified sheen. Ask what level of aggregate exposure and gloss is proposed, how edges and inaccessible areas will be handled, what dust-control equipment is used, and how stains, cracks, and previous coatings affect the result. None of those technical details is supplied by the historical listing, so they belong in a current specification rather than being inferred from the service label.
Line marking
Line marking is also listed historically. A useful quote should state the layout, dimensions, line width, marking material, surface preparation, traffic or pedestrian restrictions during curing, and the method for correcting an incorrect or worn line. Confirm whether the work is for a driveway, warehouse, car park, sports area, or another setting, because the required preparation and coating can differ.

How to request a renovation painting quote
A detailed brief helps you compare contractors on the same basis and prevents a low headline price from hiding essential preparation or exclusions.
Rank #4
- ALL-IN-ONE PAINT AND PRIMER: Saves time and effort by priming, sealing, and finishing in one step for smooth, efficient coverage
- MULTIPLE SHEENS & SIZES – INTERIOR & EXTERIOR: Ultimate White bright white paint and primer is available in Flat, Eggshell, Satin, and Semi-Gloss sheens for walls, trim, doors, and more. Offered in 1-Gallon and 5-Gallon sizes to suit any interior or exterior painting project.
- SEMI-GLOSS SHEEN – HIGH-IMPACT SHINE: Reflective, durable finish ideal for interior & exterior trim, doors, cabinets, and high-touch areas. Moisture- and stain-resistant for lasting beauty.
- DURABLE & EASY TO CLEAN: Water-based, fast-drying formula delivers a washable finish designed for everyday wear in moisture-prone areas.
- EXCEPTIONAL HIDE & COVERAGE: High-opacity formula delivers brilliant white coverage with fewer coats, even over darker colors.
- Describe the property and access. Include the address or suburb, occupied or vacant status, floor level, parking, working hours, furniture, fragile items, and any access equipment that may be needed.
- List every surface. Separate walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal, masonry, floors, exterior cladding, and previously coated areas. Note water damage, mould, peeling paint, chalking, rust, cracks, grease, or efflorescence.
- Specify the finish you want. State colours, sheen, texture, colour-matching needs, and whether the project requires low-odour or low-VOC products. If you do not know the product, ask the contractor to name the primer and topcoat system.
- Require preparation to be itemised. The quote should distinguish washing, scraping, sanding, filling, caulking, patching, stain blocking, priming, masking, and protection of floors or fixtures.
- Set the sequence and schedule. Ask for start conditions, estimated working days, drying or curing intervals, daily clean-up, and the process for weather delays on exterior work.
- Define completion. Agree how colour coverage, cut lines, touch-ups, overspray, debris removal, and final inspection will be judged. Put any retention or defect-correction arrangement in writing.
- Record commercial terms. Capture the total price, tax treatment, deposit, progress payments, variation procedure, cancellation terms, warranty or maintenance commitments, and who owns leftover materials.
Use the same comparison criteria for every contractor
Because the records do not establish multiple current Auscraft options, compare any verified quote with other genuine options using identical questions. This avoids treating a historical service list as if it were a current menu.
| Comparison area | What to request | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Current availability | Current legal name, ABN, contact details, service area, and proposed start window | Confirms that the quote comes from an operating entity able to take the work |
| Scope and preparation | Room-by-room or surface-by-surface inclusions, preparation steps, access equipment, and exclusions | Preparation often determines durability and explains price differences |
| Materials | Primer, paint or resin brand and product line, coats, sheen, colour, coverage assumptions, and curing requirements | Lets you compare like with like and plan around drying or re-entry |
| Relevant examples | Recent projects on similar substrates, ideally with permission to view or with dated photographs | Specialist floors, exterior masonry, and occupied commercial spaces require different experience |
| Price and variations | Written total, tax, payment stages, allowances, and approval method for changes | Prevents an incomplete base quote from becoming an unexpected final bill |
| Schedule and protection | Start date, duration, daily clean-up, ventilation, dust control, and weather contingencies | Reduces disruption and protects occupants and belongings |
| Aftercare | Inspection process, touch-up window, warranty wording, exclusions, and response channel | Defines what happens if coating defects appear after handover |
Questions for epoxy, polished concrete, and line-marking work
Specialist surfaces deserve a separate conversation from ordinary wall painting. Ask the contractor to inspect the substrate before pricing and to explain which findings could change the quote.
- What moisture, hardness, contamination, or adhesion tests will be carried out?
- How will oil, laitance, old adhesive, flaking coatings, cracks, and construction joints be treated?
- Which areas cannot be prepared mechanically because of services, noise, dust, or access restrictions?
- What thickness, texture, slip resistance, gloss level, or line dimensions are specified?
- How long must the area remain closed to foot traffic, vehicles, water, chemicals, or cleaning?
- What maintenance products and cleaning methods are compatible with the finished surface?
- Which substrate conditions void the warranty, and who pays if unexpected repairs are required?
Do not accept a specialist-service label as proof that the contractor can deliver your particular floor or marking system. Comparable examples and a written technical scope are more useful than a broad list of capabilities.

For a small amount of straightforward painting, a paint roller kit can be a practical DIY tool category. A basic kit normally combines a roller frame, sleeves, a tray, and sometimes an extension pole or edging tools. The historical service listing supports the connection to painting, but it does not recommend a brand, model, or kit specification.
Best Value
- Ready to use, pre-mixed door and trim paint offers a fresh new look on interior or exterior metal, wood and fiberglass
- Water-based paint formula emits less odor and withstands fading for a long lasting finish
- Dries to the touch in 45 minutes, up to 3X faster than traditional oil-based paints
- Durable, chip resistant coating provides ultimate protection with modern curb appeal
- Beautiful satin door paint is available in 6 pre-mix color options for the perfect look
A roller kit is not a substitute for professional preparation or access equipment on large, high, damaged, specialist, or occupied surfaces. Before starting a small job yourself, check that the existing coating is sound, clean the surface, protect floors and fixtures, choose a sleeve suited to the surface texture, and allow the coating to dry according to the product label. Stop and seek qualified help if you find widespread peeling, suspected lead paint, active mould or water ingress, unstable plaster, or work at a height that cannot be made safe.
How to interpret the “prompt solutions” wording
The title phrase “prompt solutions” is not supported by a measured response-time record, customer survey, quoted statement, or current service commitment in the available material. It should therefore be read as promotional wording in the title, not as a promise that calls will be answered within a particular period or that renovation work will start quickly.
If speed matters, convert it into a written question: when can the contractor inspect, when can a fixed or defined estimate be delivered, what is the earliest realistic start date, and what events could move that date? Ask every contractor the same questions and keep the answers with the quote.

When to proceed and when to look elsewhere
Proceed only after current verification
Auscraft Painting may be worth considering if you can independently confirm a current trading entity, speak with an authorised representative, inspect a clear scope, and receive terms that meet your project requirements. The historical service description can help you formulate questions, but it should not replace those checks.
Look for another contractor when key information is missing
Choose a different verified option if no current business identity is provided, the proposed work differs materially from your brief, preparation is absent from the quote, specialist coatings are described only by a generic name, payment is requested without written terms, or the contractor will not explain insurance, schedule, exclusions, and defect follow-up.
For any renovation, retain the advertisement or listing that prompted your enquiry, the contractor’s current details, the inspection notes, the signed scope, payment records, product information, and completion photographs. That file gives you a clear record of what was promised and what was delivered.
Bottom line for a renovation decision
Public records provide historical context: the ABR links AUSCRAFT PAINTING with Robert Verdiants and records the associated ABN as cancelled from 11 June 2019, while HomeOne describes an older Highett listing covering residential and commercial painting, epoxy floors, concrete polishing, and line marking. They do not confirm current operation or availability. Verify the business first, then compare a fully itemised scope, materials, preparation, timing, price, and aftercare against other current contractors.
