AXM Paper Space Scale Models publishes downloadable paper and cardstock models of spacecraft, rockets, and the International Space Station. It is a catalog of individual projects—not one boxed kit—so choose a specific model, then check its scale, included files, instructions, and license before printing.
What can you build with AXM?
AXM’s catalog spans space shuttles, space stations, U.S. rockets, international launch vehicles, and other spaceflight subjects. Its current pages include models such as the ISS, Falcon 9, Crew Dragon, Atlas V, Orion, SLS, and Starship. The homepage is a useful starting point, but it is not a complete inventory; browse the relevant subject pages for available models and files.

Is the AXM ISS model free?
The International Space Station is a large, multi-part project at 1:100 scale. AXM’s current ISS page says kit #1 is available for purchase and that free kits #2 and #3 are needed to complete the full model. In other words, the complete project is not described as entirely free or entirely paid: access differs by kit. Check AXM’s current ISS model page for the live file and purchase options.

A legacy AXM page also lists three combo kits, but its listed $25 price is historical and should not be treated as today’s price. Confirm current availability and price on the live model or store page before deciding.
Which cardstock should you use?
Follow the instructions supplied with the particular model. AXM’s older Shuttle assembly page gives different guidance for two scales: for 1:144 models, it recommends 90 lb (165 g/m²) cardstock or thinner; for 1:100 models, it recommends thicker 110 lb cardstock. Those are published recommendations for the models covered by that page, not a universal specification for every AXM template.

How do you print the templates at the right size?
Scale depends on printing the template at its intended size. AXM’s Shuttle instructions say to choose “NONE” for page scaling to avoid printing errors. In the print dialog, disable automatic fit or resizing and select “NONE” for page scaling, as AXM specifies. Check the chosen model’s own instructions in case its file gives different or additional directions.

What do the SLS scales and Orion parts include?
AXM lists its SLS paper model in both 1:144 and 1:96 scales. Its separate 1:96 Orion Artemis-1 stage kit includes the launch abort system, Orion capsule, service module, cryogenic stage, and solar panels in stowed and extended forms. AXM says small magnets can optionally make the solar panels removable. Review the model page and its files to confirm which components and options apply to the version you plan to build.
