That organization is useful for two different jobs:
- New projects: start with the look and hardware type, then select dimensions that suit the doors and drawers.
- Replacements: start with the existing hole spacing and the original part number, then use finish and style to find a close match.
Styles listed in the catalog include transitional, contemporary, traditional and artisan. The live assortment changes, so a collection or finish should not be assumed to be permanently available simply because it appears in an older image or saved shopping list.

Cabinet knobs
Knobs attach at a single point and are commonly used on cabinet doors. Their main compatibility question is the location of the existing hole. If a door already has two holes, replacing its pull with a one-hole knob would leave an unused hole unless you repair and refinish the door or use a backplate that covers it.
Drawer pulls
Pulls attach at two points and are selected by their center-to-center (CC) spacing: the distance from the center of one mounting hole to the center of the other. CC is the measurement that determines whether a new pull will fit existing holes. Overall length is a separate dimension and should not be used as a substitute for CC.
Appliance pulls
Appliance pulls are intended for larger, heavier fronts such as refrigerator or freezer panels. They are usually longer than ordinary drawer pulls, so check the product’s mounting hardware, projection and structural requirements rather than assuming a cabinet pull can serve the same purpose.

Related and mix-and-match pieces
Berenson’s catalog also includes related hardware and a Mix and Match Hardware grouping. This can help coordinate knobs and pulls across one room while allowing different sizes for doors, drawers and appliances. Confirm that the finish and dimensions are offered on each selected SKU; the catalog’s finish list is not a promise that every product comes in every finish.

For a replacement, measurement comes before appearance. Use a ruler or caliper and record the existing hardware before removing it.
- Measure center to center. Measure from the center of one screw hole to the center of the other. Do not measure from the outside edges of the old pull.
- Record the measurement in millimeters and inches. Manufacturers may publish one or both, and a small rounding difference can send you to the wrong size.
- Measure the old pull’s overall length, width and projection. These dimensions determine how much of the existing mark it covers and how far it stands proud of the cabinet.
- Check the screw length. Cabinet thickness, drawer-front thickness and any backplate affect the fastener length you need. Use the manufacturer’s supplied hardware or a correctly sized replacement.
- Confirm the part number. Once you find a candidate, compare its SKU and dimensions with your notes before ordering.
One useful reference point in the Berenson range is the Metro 128mm CC Matte Black Pull, SKU 4116-1055-P. Its 128mm CC measurement is also described as 5 1/16 inches. That number identifies the hole spacing; it is not the pull’s total length.

The Metro example shows why a product page is more useful than a photograph alone. Berenson describes Metro as a collection with defined edges and tapered design elements, and the item page supplies the following specifications.

The distinction between the 128mm CC spacing and the 5 7/16-inch overall length is especially important when replacing an existing pull. A cabinet drilled at 128mm CC can accept this pull’s mounting pattern, but the surrounding dimensions still determine whether it covers old impressions and feels comfortable to use.

Use style and finish as a coordinated system
Style categories
Berenson lists transitional, contemporary, traditional and artisan styles. Treat those labels as a starting filter, not a substitute for looking at the profile. Transitional hardware can bridge flat-panel and more detailed cabinetry; contemporary pieces tend to emphasize cleaner geometry; traditional and artisan groupings may introduce more ornament or hand-worked character. The cabinet door profile, faucet, lighting and appliances should all be considered before committing to one collection.
Finish choices
Examples in Berenson’s finish selection include matte black, brushed nickel, modern brushed gold, bronze, chrome, copper and satin brass. These are examples from the live catalog, not a fixed list for every model. Two products that appear similar in a finish menu can have different undertones or levels of sheen, so compare the actual SKU images and description where possible.
Order or inspect a sample when color matching is critical. Lighting changes how black, brass and bronze read, and nearby materials can make a finish look warmer or cooler. If you are combining knobs and pulls, verify that both products list the same finish name rather than relying only on a room photograph.
Material, dimensions and daily use
The Metro example is specified as zinc. Other Berenson pages may identify different materials, so do not generalize the material of one collection to the entire catalog. Material information matters when you are comparing weight, tactile feel, corrosion exposure or the way a finish is applied.

Dimensions also affect usability. A projection of 1 3/8 inches, as listed for the Metro pull, gives fingers more clearance than a very shallow pull but can be too prominent for a narrow walkway or a compact door. Check the width and projection against adjacent doors, corner fillers and appliance panels. On drawers, make sure the pull does not collide with a neighboring front when both are opened.

Find the exact Berenson model and a current seller
Start with Berenson’s product page
Use Berenson’s category filters to narrow by type, finish and style, then open the individual product page. The page should be where you verify the SKU, material, dimensions, finish and center-to-center spacing. Berenson also provides a “Where to Purchase” route from its product pages, which is the most direct way to identify a current sales channel for that item.
Check specialist retailers carefully
Specialist cabinet-hardware retailers may list Berenson products and can be useful when you need multiple pieces, replacement screws or help matching a discontinued-looking style. Retailer stock, pack quantity and lead time can change independently of the manufacturer’s catalog. Compare the retailer’s SKU and dimensions with Berenson’s product page before paying.
Be cautious with marketplace listings
Berenson pulls have appeared in marketplace offers, including Amazon listings, but the exact availability of SKU 4116-1055-P is not established by a general marketplace mention. If you shop through a marketplace, verify the seller, exact SKU, finish, CC measurement, overall dimensions, quantity and return terms. A listing title that says “128mm” is not enough if the photographs or specification table describe another model.

New construction or a full refit gives you more flexibility, but consistency prevents expensive drilling mistakes.
- Map each front. Mark doors, standard drawers, wide drawers and appliance panels separately.
- Assign hardware types. Decide where knobs, regular pulls and appliance pulls will be used before selecting finishes.
- Choose a drilling convention. Keep pull placement consistent across matching doors and drawers. Use a template rather than measuring each front by eye.
- Confirm the chosen CC size. Record the exact millimeter spacing and part number for every pull size.
- Test one front. Install one piece and open nearby doors and drawers to check clearance, projection and visual alignment.
- Order the complete quantity. Include spares for future replacements, while confirming the seller’s pack size and current stock.
For an existing kitchen, do not drill new holes until you have tested the proposed placement on a removable door or a temporary template. New holes are difficult to hide in finished cabinetry, especially with high-contrast finishes such as matte black.

Installation and maintenance checks
Installation
Use a cabinet-hardware template, a sharp bit and a backing board where appropriate to reduce tear-out on the rear of a door or drawer. Clamp or support wide drawer fronts so their weight does not pull the fastener sideways during tightening. Tighten screws until the hardware is secure; excessive force can damage the finish, the screw head or the cabinet front.
After installation, open every adjacent door and drawer. Check that the pull clears corners, that appliance fronts do not flex, and that the fastener is long enough to engage securely without protruding into the cabinet interior.
Cleaning
Use a soft, damp cloth and dry the hardware afterward. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and aggressive polishing compounds unless the product’s care instructions specifically permit them. Cleaning chemicals that are safe for a countertop may still dull or discolor a decorative finish.
A practical decision checklist
- Do you need a knob, a two-hole drawer pull or an appliance pull?
- What is the exact center-to-center spacing of the existing holes?
- Will the new pull’s overall length cover old marks?
- Are width and projection comfortable for the room and clear of neighboring fronts?
- Does the product page identify the material, finish, style and SKU?
- Is the finish confirmed for this model rather than merely shown in the general catalog?
- Does the seller show the same SKU, dimensions and quantity you intend to buy?
- Have you checked current stock and return terms before ordering?
What to verify before checkout
Berenson identifies a January 2026 MSRP catalog, but catalog MSRP is not the same as a current retailer price or a verified marketplace price. Use the current catalog for product and list-price reference, then compare the live seller’s price, pack quantity, shipping, stock status and return policy. Keep a record of the SKU and finish name in your project file so a future replacement can be matched without relying on a photograph.
