The best bobbin for a Juki sewing machine is the one specified for your exact model and hook configuration—not simply a bobbin labeled “Juki.” Check the machine’s manual or parts list for the part number before buying. JUKI’s catalogs show that even machines in the same product range can require different bobbins.

How to choose a replacement bobbin
- Read the model identification. Use the full model designation on the machine and consult its manual or parts list.
- Confirm the hook configuration. Check the manual or parts list for the applicable hook type; do not assume two machines in one family use the same bobbin.
- Match the manufacturer’s part number. Compare the documentation with the seller’s listing. If the listing does not clearly identify your model or configuration, ask an authorized JUKI parts source or service provider to confirm it.
- Follow the bobbin and bobbin-case instructions. Check whether the manual specifies an installation direction or a particular insertion procedure.
What JUKI says about reinforced plastic bobbins
For the reinforced plastic bobbins in its catalogs, JUKI says they are lighter than aluminum and iron bobbins and reduce thread bending after intermittent stitching or thread trimming. These are manufacturer descriptions; the reviewed catalog information does not provide independent comparative testing or establish that plastic is best for every machine or sewing task. Install the bobbin in the specified direction
Compatibility is only part of getting reliable thread delivery. The PS-800 Series manual says to install the bobbin in the illustrated direction and warns that reversing it makes bobbin-thread pullout inconsistent. It also says to switch off power before replacing the bobbin. Follow the procedure and diagram in your own model’s manual rather than treating the PS-800 instructions as universal. The LK-1910/1920 manual also warns that orientation matters and instructs users to insert the bobbin case fully. JUKI cautions that a case that is not fully inserted may slip off during sewing. Can one bobbin be called the best for every Juki?
