For a manicure with an actual sand-like texture, Zoya PixieDust is a documented option: Zoya identifies the collection as textured, and describes its Dhara shade as feeling somewhat like sandpaper when applied. That makes PixieDust a product family worth considering—not an independently tested winner. If you want a tactile finish rather than a shade merely named after sand, check the finish description before buying.
What qualifies as sand-effect nail polish?
Sand-effect polish has a deliberately textured surface after application. It is different from a smooth polish that happens to be beige, sandy-colored, or named after sand. It is also distinct from ordinary glitter polish when the glitter leaves a smooth finish.

Dhara as a specific example
Dhara (ZP702) is described by Zoya as fiery orange-copper, with a matte, textured, sparkling metallic finish. It is a documented example of the sand-effect look, but the available product information does not establish it as the best shade for every wearer.
How to choose a shade and finish
- Texture: Look for an explicit “textured” finish description. A color name such as “Quick Sand” alone does not establish texture; the cited OPI RapiDry result describes that as a neutral shade, not a sand-textured formula.
- Appearance: Dhara combines a matte surface with sparkling metallic color. Check the product description for the finish you want rather than assuming all textured polishes look alike.

How many coats should you apply?

Is OPI Liquid Sand still available?
OPI Liquid Sand appears in older references, but the evidence available here does not confirm its current retail availability. Treat it as a legacy mention, not a verified current alternative, and check an authoritative current listing before relying on it.
