Blender 4.3.2 is a historical corrective release from December 17, 2024, with seven bug fixes. Download it from Blender’s official archive when a project or workflow specifically requires 4.3; for general use, Blender recommends the latest stable or LTS release. Before moving projects between versions, check Grease Pencil data, brushes, rendering hardware, drivers, add-ons, and Python scripts.

Blender 4.3.2 is appropriate when you need to stay on the Blender 4.3 release line for a project, course, or compatibility requirement. It is not the default choice for a new installation in 2026: Blender’s official release guidance recommends the latest stable or LTS version for general and production use.
Blender 4.3 arrived on November 19, 2024; 4.3.1 followed on December 10, and 4.3.2 on December 17. The Blender 4.3.2 corrective notes list seven fixes, including a saving slowdown, a data-loss issue when unpacking a .blend file, a startup crash path involving the Video Sequencer, and Grease Pencil and vertex-color issues. The Blender team’s 4.3 release overview says, “Updating is highly recommended.”
What the “4.3.2” version number means
- 4 identifies the major Blender generation.
- 3 identifies the Blender 4.3 feature release.
- 2 identifies the second corrective release in the 4.3 line, released after 4.3.1.
Features described as “new in Blender 4.3” belong to the feature release; the seven fixes belong to 4.3.2. Use the Blender 4.3 manual for version-matched instructions.

The features below arrived with Blender 4.3, rather than specifically with the 4.3.2 corrective release. Blender’s release overview describes improvements but does not provide a comparable benchmark figure, so these are not guarantees of a specific speed increase.

EEVEE, shading, and compositing
- Light and shadow linking: control which objects a light affects and which objects block its light.
- Gabor Noise: a procedural texture node for creating material variation.

- EEVEE render passes: these became available for interactive compositing, alongside other compositor changes.
Grease Pencil
The 4.3 release rewrote Grease Pencil, adding Layer Groups, Geometry Nodes integration, an improved eraser, gradients, and other changes. This new data model is fully incompatible with previous Blender releases, so retain a copy and validate files that use Grease Pencil before migration.
Geometry Nodes
Blender 4.3 added or expanded For Each Zone, node-group gizmos, packed bakes, utility nodes, and handling for Grease Pencil data. These capabilities support procedural workflows, but a project should be tested after changing versions.
Sculpting, brushes, and UV editing
- Sculpting: the release included a major sculpting refactor; no quantified performance result is established here.
- Brushes: brushes became assets that can be organized and shared through asset libraries. Brushes from previous versions need conversion for the redesigned workflow.
- UV unwrapping: Minimum Stretch, based on the SLIM algorithm, provides an iterative unwrap method aimed at reducing distortion, especially for organic forms.
Video Sequencer and Windows on Arm
The Blender 4.3 overview reports Video Sequencer drawing and thumbnail improvements, multithreaded video-proxy downscaling, and support for sub-frame sound adjustments. It also reports native Windows on Arm support.

Upgrade and compatibility checklist
- Keep a backup. Duplicate the .blend file and retain linked assets, caches, and the original before testing a different version.
- Check Grease Pencil data. Blender 4.3’s rewritten data model is fully incompatible with previous Blender releases. Inspect layers, materials, strokes, and modifiers in a test copy.
- Check brushes. Convert brushes from previous versions for the redesigned asset-based workflow and verify the result.
- Verify rendering hardware. Blender 4.3 removed Cycles Metal support for AMD and Intel GPUs on macOS. Confirm that the project’s GPU and rendering backend remain suitable.
- Check the NVIDIA driver if relevant. Blender 4.3’s minimum NVIDIA driver requirement is version 495.89.
- Test add-ons and Python scripts. Blender 4.3 includes Python API breaking changes. Check compatibility with the target Blender version and test important operations on a duplicate project.
- Validate the output. Inspect materials, modifiers, linked libraries, simulations, and rendered results before updating a working installation or team standard.
