Blender 4.5.5 is a maintenance patch released on November 18, 2025, with five targeted fixes—not a feature release. As of October 7, 2026, Blender lists 4.5.14 as the latest 4.5 LTS update and recommends the latest LTS or stable release for general use and production.

What changed in Blender 4.5.5?

- A crash in the Potrace library.
- A parent type that was not reset after “Clear and Keep Transforms.”

These are corrections to existing behavior, not new artist-facing features. The 4.5 series introduced broader changes, but those should not be mistaken for changes in the 4.5.5 patch.

Should you install Blender 4.5.5?
For most people installing Blender now, 4.5.5 is not the right default: Blender’s guidance recommends the latest LTS or stable release for general use and production. At the research date, the official release page listed Blender 4.5.14 as the latest 4.5 LTS patch.

What does Blender 4.5 LTS support mean?
The Blender 4.5 LTS line is scheduled for support until July 2027. Blender describes LTS as a way to provide critical fixes for long-running projects; LTS releases do not receive new features, API changes, or improvements. That support period applies to the 4.5 LTS line, not specifically to 4.5.5 as the latest patch.
Blender 4.5 series changes are not 4.5.5 changes
Blender 4.5 LTS introduced changes including full Vulkan support, procedural texture nodes in the compositor, and faster startup and multi-threaded shader compilation by default on supported platforms. These are 4.5-series changes, not features added by 4.5.5. Vulkan is not enabled by default, according to Blender’s overview, which also advises keeping graphics drivers up to date.
