DepEd’s reviewed 2025 Brigada Eskwela guidance and resource listing do not identify flaglets as required or recommended supplies. The national activity ran June 9–13, 2025, with school classes scheduled to open June 16. A school may have chosen to use flaglets locally, but the available official materials do not establish that they were part of the national program.
What was Brigada Eskwela 2025?
The Department of Education scheduled Brigada Eskwela for June 9–13, 2025, ahead of the June 16 opening of classes. Its theme was “Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa.” DepEd framed the five-day activity around bayanihan and community collaboration to prepare schools, with literacy as a key priority. DepEd’s implementing guidelines set the national framework; a DepEd NCR memorandum also gave the dates and theme and described kickoff arrangements.

Did DepEd require or recommend flaglets?
Not in the reviewed official materials. A DepEd division partner-support page lists Brigada Eskwela resources including a tarp design, logo, presentation and manual, as well as a memorandum for the 2025 regional kickoff; its listing does not include flaglets. The implementing guidance and that division resource listing do not establish flaglets as national requirements or recommendations. This is a limit of what those sources show, not proof that every school went without them: an individual school could have used or bought flaglets under its own local plan.
Should a school use flaglets for the event?
That depends on the school’s own approved plan and the purpose of the materials. The available official sources do not prescribe a flaglet design or identify flaglets as official Brigada Eskwela 2025 merchandise. They also do not support a particular product or seller as approved by DepEd.

If a local plan calls for event materials, decide based on the school’s actual needs rather than assuming flaglets are expected. Practical considerations include whether the material supports event identification, literacy activities or clean-up; whether its design follows local specifications; whether it will withstand the setting and weather; and its total cost. These are general planning considerations, not official DepEd product criteria.

Brigada Eskwela dates and themes change by year. DepEd later set the 2026 program for June 1–5 under the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.” That later schedule and theme apply to the 2026 edition, not the 2025 activity. DepEd’s 2026 memorandum provides the later-year details.
