A Clip Studio Paint perpetual license does not expire, but that does not mean the software can be used indefinitely without authentication. Clip Studio’s official support says Windows/macOS Ver. 2.0.3 can be used offline for 15 days after the app is started online; Ver. 1 has a separate procedure. Check your installed version, license generation, and operating system against the current official guidance before relying on offline access.
What “perpetual” means
A perpetual license covers the features included in a particular version and has no time limit. It does not automatically include every later major version, nor does it establish that the application never checks its license. Clip Studio lists perpetual licenses by version generation, and its purchase information describes the one-time purchase as covering the features of that version. Offline behavior is a separate question. The official Windows/macOS FAQ says Ver. 2.0.3 can be used offline for 15 days after updating and starting the app online. The same FAQ gives a distinct procedure for Ver. 1. Do not treat the Ver. 2.0.3 statement as a universal rule for every version or platform.

Why a perpetual license can still need authentication
“Perpetual” describes the duration of the version license, not whether the software will ever authenticate. CELSYS’s End User License Agreement identifies information such as a serial number, activation code, and/or device hardware information in connection with license authentication. The official support page is the direct source for the 15-day Ver. 2.0.3 offline statement; the available evidence does not establish a broader rule for all versions or explain every reason for the authentication interval.
That distinction matters if you travel, work in a disconnected studio, or use a restricted network. A successful offline test on your computer can help you understand its current behavior, but it is not a guarantee for other versions, platforms, or future account and software changes.
