Para fazer um caderno artesanal, prepare o miolo de folhas, duas capas rígidas, linha e agulha (ou grampo/espiral), cola e ferramentas de corte e furação. Alinhe o bloco, marque a lombada, faça furos regulares, una as folhas e fixe as capas. Para um modelo A5, basta dobrar folhas A4 ao meio.
Materiais e ferramentas
- Folhas A4 ou A5 para o miolo.
- Papel Paraná, papelão cinza ou outra placa rígida para capa e contracapa.
- Papel decorativo, tecido, colagem ou arte impressa para revestir as capas.
- Linha, agulha e agulhão.
- Cola branca (PVA), fita crepe e papel kraft para apoio e acabamento.
- Régua, lápis, dobradeira, tesoura e guilhotina ou estilete.
- Clipes ou prendedores para manter o bloco alinhado.
O tutorial de Marina Morais (2023) para um caderno A5 de 96 folhas usa 48 folhas A4, duas folhas de 180 g/m², papel kraft, linha, elástico, cola, fita crepe e ferramentas de corte e furação.

Escolha o formato e monte o miolo
Formato A5 a partir de A4
Dobre cada folha A4 ao meio e pressione bem a dobra com uma dobradeira ou com a lateral de uma régua. O material do Museu da Imigração (2020) usa 20 folhas A4 dobradas, resultando em 40 folhas A5. O tutorial de Marina Morais (2023) usa 48 folhas A4 para um caderno de 96 folhas A5; a diferença vem da quantidade escolhida para o projeto.
Quantidade de folhas
Comece com um bloco menor se ainda não domina a furação. Reduza a quantidade quando o conjunto ficar difícil de perfurar ou costurar sem deformar as folhas.

Como fazer: passo a passo
- Defina o tamanho. Escolha A5 dobrando A4 ao meio ou use folhas já cortadas no formato desejado. Mantenha todas as folhas com a mesma orientação.
- Alinhe o bloco. Bata as folhas sobre a mesa pelos lados e pela lombada. Prenda temporariamente com clipes ou prendedores para impedir que escorreguem.
- Marque a lombada. Com régua e lápis, distribua os pontos de furação em intervalos regulares. A precisão dessa marcação determina se a costura ficará reta.
- Faça os furos. Apoie o bloco sobre uma base de proteção e atravesse cada marca com o agulhão mantido perpendicular ao papel. Retire os clipes apenas quando necessário e recoloque-os em seguida.
- Una o miolo. Na costura simples, passe a agulha ponto a ponto pelos furos, mantendo a linha firme, mas sem apertar a ponto de franzir ou deformar as folhas. Dê acabamento seguro nas extremidades.
- Corte as capas. Transfira o formato do miolo para duas peças de papel Paraná ou papelão rígido. Quando o projeto pedir, deixe as capas ligeiramente maiores que as folhas para protegê-las.
- Revista as capas. Corte papel, tecido ou arte impressa com margem para virar sobre as bordas. Aplique cola em camada fina, alise do centro para as extremidades e dobre as sobras para o verso.
- Fixe e seque. Una capa e miolo apenas se a técnica escolhida exigir cola na lombada ou nas guardas. Deixe secar sob pressão leve, usando papel de proteção, e confira o alinhamento antes de fechar o caderno.
Quatro formas de prender as folhas

Compare as opções pela durabilidade desejada, abertura plana, ferramentas disponíveis, velocidade de montagem e aparência da lombada.
Como fazer uma capa dura bem alinhada
- Use papel Paraná ou papelão rígido para dar estrutura.
- Corte capa e contracapa com a mesma medida e verifique o esquadro antes de revestir.
- Espalhe a cola PVA uniformemente; excesso pode enrugar o revestimento.
- Vire as margens do papel ou tecido para o verso e pressione as quinas com a dobradeira.
- Deixe a cola secar com pressão leve e uma folha de proteção entre as partes.
Depois de seca, a capa pode receber tecido, papel decorativo, colagem ou uma arte impressa, permitindo criar peças temáticas e personalizadas.
