Measure the mantel before choosing a holder

The trade-off is projection: the hardware may be more visible, and the deeper structure gives you more parts to assemble and align. Read capacity numbers conservatively

- Estimate the loaded stocking, including gifts, before hanging it.
- Keep dense or unusually heavy items in a lower-risk location rather than testing the stated maximum.
