Bing Image Creator is Microsoft’s online text-to-image service, and Microsoft currently lists DALL·E 3 as one of its selectable models. To create an image, sign in with a personal Microsoft Account, choose a model, enter a prompt and start creation; Microsoft’s current page says DALL·E 3 returns multiple images counted as one creation.
Microsoft’s current product page lists 15 free fast creations per day and a limit of 200 prompts per 24-hour period, while standard-speed creation is free. These limits and the model menu can change, so check Microsoft’s live page and the service in your location; details here were checked on October 7, 2026.
What is Bing Image Creator?
Bing Image Creator is Microsoft’s online tool for turning a text description into an image. Microsoft currently lists MAI-Image-1, GPT-4o and DALL·E 3 as selectable image-generation models. DALL·E 3 is a model option; Bing Image Creator is the Microsoft service and interface.
Microsoft says the feature integrates an OpenAI image-generation model with additional Microsoft safety measures. Microsoft also described the feature as “Image Creator from Bing” during its assessment period; its current public page uses “Bing Image Creator.”

Microsoft’s 2023 announcement said DALL·E 3 support was intended to bring more realistic creations and better detail rendering. Those are Microsoft’s descriptions of the integration, not independent test results or a guarantee about any particular image.
How to create an image
- Open Bing Image Creator on the web or use the Bing mobile app.
- Sign in with a personal Microsoft Account. Microsoft says work or school accounts using Microsoft Entra ID cannot use Bing Image Creator.
- Select a model from the available choices.
- Describe the image you want, including useful context such as setting, style or visual details.
- Start creation and review the generated images.
Microsoft says DALL·E 3 generates multiple images from a prompt and counts that set as one creation. Its current page says MAI-Image-1 and GPT-4o generate one image per creation. These are current product-page statements and may change.

Access, speed and limits
Microsoft says Bing Image Creator requires a personal Microsoft Account. Its current page says people signed in with a Microsoft Entra ID, typically a work or school account, cannot use the service. Microsoft also lists availability exclusions for Russia and China and says features may vary by device, market and browser.
Microsoft’s current Bing Image Creator page lists the following limits and options, checked October 7, 2026:

How to write a useful prompt
Microsoft recommends describing the subject and providing context, such as artistic style or key visual details. A clear prompt can specify:
- Subject: what should appear
- Setting: location, time or weather
- Composition: close-up, overhead view or wide shot
- Style and details: visual treatment, materials, lighting or palette
For example: “A red fox sitting beside a rain-covered train window at night, close three-quarter composition, soft blue station lights and warm reflections inside the carriage, quiet and reflective mood.” This gives the model context, but does not guarantee an exact result.
For requested lettering, state the exact words and where they should appear. Generated text may still contain mistakes, so add final typography in a design application when accuracy matters.

Safety and prompt restrictions
Microsoft describes using classifiers, filters, metaprompts and blocklists intended to reduce harmful outputs and restrict certain prompts. Some requests may be blocked, limited or redirected, including requests involving certain names or sensitive content. These controls do not guarantee that every unsafe, misleading or biased image will be prevented. If a harmless prompt is refused, describe the benign scene more clearly rather than trying to evade safeguards.

Microsoft’s September 2023 announcement said it planned to use Content Credentials with cryptographic methods to add an invisible digital watermark to AI-generated Bing images, including information about the original creation time and date. The reviewed sources do not verify whether Content Credentials are currently present on every Bing Image Creator output. Do not assume every downloaded image has a visible or machine-readable provenance credential.
Microsoft describes Designer as a broader cloud design app for graphics such as social media posts, invitations and digital postcards. Bing Image Creator is the generation feature; Microsoft’s 2023 announcement described Designer as a way to edit generated images further. Check Microsoft’s current terms and product documentation before relying on specific editing, ownership or commercial-use claims.
