“Delta elephant clipart” may mean elephant artwork associated with Delta Sigma Theta, but the phrase alone does not establish that a design is official or approved. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Vendor Code of Conduct says the elephant is not an official sorority symbol and says it should not be used with the sorority’s name or marks. If you are choosing art for a project, check the design’s license and any required authorization before using or selling it.
What does “Delta elephant clipart” mean?
The search phrase is ambiguous. It can point to elephant graphics presented online alongside Delta Sigma Theta references, including listings titled with phrases such as “Delta Sigma Theta elephant clipart” or “Delta Sigma Theta elephant logo.” Those listing terms describe how a seller presents the artwork; they do not establish official status or affiliation. Delta Sigma Theta’s Vendor Code of Conduct is explicit: “The elephant and duck are not official symbols of Delta and should not be used with Delta’s Marks or with Delta’s name.” Read the Vendor Code of Conduct.
How to check whether an image is suitable for your project
- Identify the intended use. Decide whether the image is for a personal project, publication, promotion, merchandise, or another use. A listing marked “Personal Use” does not establish permission for commercial or promotional use.
- Read the actual license. Confirm what the seller permits, including whether you may reproduce, edit, distribute, or sell products featuring the artwork. Do not rely on a short label alone.
- Check for Delta names and marks. The vendor code says licensees may not use the sorority’s name or a Delta mark with sayings, phrases, or artistic renditions unless otherwise agreed to in writing. That provision applies to licensees under the code; it should not be treated as a universal legal ruling for every person or situation.
- Confirm authorization when the design invokes Delta Sigma Theta. Consult current official guidance and confirm any required permission and licensing before publishing, promoting, or selling the design.
Does an elephant-shaped Delta pin mean the elephant is an official symbol?
No. The Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum catalogues an elephant-shaped Delta Sigma Theta pin in its collection. The record describes a metal and plastic pin measuring 15/16 × 1 × 7/16 inches and notes reuse restrictions. A museum catalog record documents an object; it does not establish official symbol status, authorize clipart use, or indicate that the pin is currently for sale. View the Smithsonian object record.
