For Diwali graphics you can place in an invitation, slide, or web design, check the individual download page for the exact file format, confirm that the file itself has a transparent background, and read its license before using it. “Free” and “transparent PNG” labels are useful starting points—not guarantees that every format is included or that every use is permitted.
Choose a format for the job
Use the format offered by the specific asset, not just a platform’s search filter. A PNG is convenient for placing artwork into a finished design. A vector file may be preferable when you need to resize or edit the artwork, while a layered PSD may suit work that needs separate image elements. Those benefits depend on the downloaded file actually containing the format or editable layers you need.

Available formats vary by artwork. Wikimedia Commons has a Happy Diwali SVG, while Icons8 lists PNG, SVG, and PSD options on its Diwali results. Other platforms advertise additional formats, but that does not mean every asset comes in all of them.
Find and verify a transparent background
A transparent image can sit over a colored or illustrated design without showing an opaque rectangular backdrop. Some listings explicitly offer transparent PNGs, including the surfaced Diwali options from Freepik and the clip.art Diwali collection. Check the specific item page and inspect the downloaded file; a thumbnail or listing label is not conclusive proof that the file you receive has transparency.
Catalog pages can help narrow the search. Pngtree’s Diwali search exposes format and license categories such as PNG, PSD, and vector. Treat those as filters, then verify both format and terms on the individual asset page.
