An Easter Bunny selfie can mean a photo you take yourself at home, or a seasonal visit where a venue photographer captures your family with Bunny. Those are different experiences: before planning a mall visit, check that location’s dates, reservation and photo-package rules, and whether personal phone pictures are allowed.
Choose between a DIY photo and a venue visit
| What to consider | DIY photo | Organized Bunny visit |
|---|---|---|
| Who takes the picture | You take it with your own device. | A venue photographer captures the moment; the exact process depends on the operator. |
| Planning | Make it at home or during an outing when it suits you. | Dates and reservation availability are specific to the venue and season. |
| Cost and photos | You create and keep your own image; no venue package is involved. | Prints, digital files, and package terms vary. Check the local listing or ask the venue. |
| Personal-camera policy | You control the camera and image. | Do not assume personal phone photography is permitted; confirm with the location. |
| Accessibility and sensory needs | You can choose the setting and pace. | Ask the venue what accommodations and sensory-friendly arrangements are available. |
How to plan an organized Easter Bunny photo
- Find the local event listing. Bunny visits are seasonal and location-specific. Arizona Mills’ Simon listing, for example, showed March 14–April 5, 2026; those dates have passed. Check the venue’s listing for the next season rather than relying on an old event page. Simon’s Arizona Mills Bunny Magic listing.
- Confirm how to attend. Bunny Magic says visitors can reserve a 15-minute slot or come as walk-ups; reservations are encouraged but not required. The operator says five families are allotted per slot, so a reserved time is not necessarily a private visit. These details apply to Bunny Magic, not every venue or operator. Bunny Magic FAQ.
- Ask what pictures are included and who may take them. The same FAQ describes a photographer capturing the visit, followed by choosing a package or completing checkout. Package terms differ, and the available information does not establish a general policy on taking pictures with your own phone. Ask your specific location whether a purchase is required to meet Bunny and whether personal photography is allowed.
- Check sensory and accessibility arrangements. Bunny Magic says participating properties are ADA/AODA compliant and describes sensory-friendly programs with mall partners. Program names include Caring Bunny at Simon properties, Sensory Bunny at Centennial and Spinoso properties, SENSITIVE BUNNY at Washington Prime Group locations, and Quiet Time with Bunny at RioCan locations. Availability and arrangements vary; confirm the participating venue and its current details. The operator recommends early weekday visits as lower-traffic options and says trained staff and characters can accommodate guests with sensory needs. Bunny Magic FAQ.
- Save digital photos promptly. For certain Bunny Magic packages, the operator says digital photos are available 24–48 hours after the visit through the envelope QR code or an SMS link, and remain available for 30 days after the season ends. Package eligibility and terms can change, so check the instructions you receive and download the files while they are available. Bunny Magic FAQ.
Make a DIY Easter Bunny selfie
Choose a familiar, comfortable spot at home or during an outing, then frame the people and seasonal details you want in the picture. Bunny ears or other Easter photo booth props are optional accessories, not a requirement. Safer Schools NI’s 2022 Easter creativity pack includes an activity titled “Easter Selfie Photo Props,” supporting props as a simple craft idea—not a recommendation of a particular product or proof of current retail availability. Safer Schools NI Easter creativity pack.
If you attend a venue event, treat a DIY-style phone picture as something to arrange only if that location permits it. A professional package may offer keepsakes: Bunny Magic lists printed photos and customizable items such as frames, tote bags, blankets, posters, and mugs. Those are offerings described by that operator, not a standard available at every Bunny visit. Bunny Magic photo products.
