The Enware EBTW610 Curve Back to Wall Close-Coupled Toilet Suite is a wall-faced, rimless vitreous-china toilet designed for commercial, healthcare, hotel, high-rise and residential bathrooms. Its practical proposition is straightforward: remove the conventional pan rim for easier access during cleaning, combine that form with a compact concealed-fix installation, and limit flushing to 4.5 litres on a full flush, 3 litres on a half flush and 3.4 litres on average. Those figures and the hygiene benefits are claims and specifications from Enware’s current product information and technical documentation; they are not an independent comparative hygiene study.
What the EBTW610 actually is
The product identified in Enware’s current documentation is the EBTW610 Curve Back to Wall Close-Coupled Toilet Suite. “Back to wall” means the pan sits against the finished wall, hiding the rear plumbing and presenting a cleaner face to the room. “Close-coupled” means the cistern is mounted directly on the pan rather than connected by an exposed flush pipe. How a rimless pan changes cleaning and hygiene
A conventional toilet pan has a hollow rim around the bowl. Flush water travels through openings under that rim, creating a concealed channel that is difficult to see and reach with a brush. A rimless pan removes that overhanging channel. The bowl edge is open, so the surfaces around the flush path are visible and easier to wipe.

Enware describes the EBTW610’s rimless design and easy-clean surface as supporting infection control, hygiene and easier maintenance. That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not proof from an independent head-to-head hygiene trial. In a healthcare or high-traffic installation, the design can make inspection and routine wiping simpler, but cleaning frequency, detergent choice, water quality, user behaviour and the surrounding bathroom surfaces still affect real-world hygiene.
What rimless does not guarantee
- It does not eliminate the need for regular cleaning or disinfection.
- It does not prove that every rimless flush removes more bacteria than every rimmed flush.
- It does not replace a project’s infection-control procedures, cleaning schedule or approved chemicals.
- It does not remove the need to check splash behaviour, flush performance and service access for the actual installation.

These are fixture specifications, not a promise of a particular water-bill reduction. Household or facility consumption depends on the number of users, flush choices, cistern settings, leaks and operating hours. A facilities manager can estimate use by multiplying the expected number of full and half flushes by the corresponding volumes, then comparing that result with the existing suite’s measured or documented consumption.

Design and installation details that affect fit
Trap and inlet configuration
The EBTW610 supports both P-trap and S-trap plumbing arrangements. It includes an S-trap adaptor, which can simplify a floor-outlet installation when the adaptor matches the existing set-out. The suite has a back high-level inlet. Before ordering, the plumber should confirm the existing waste outlet position, water connection, finished floor level and the dimensions of any required adaptor.
Wall, skirting and coving set-out
Because the pan is wall-faced, the finished wall line is part of the installation datum. Skirting, cove skirting, wall protection and tile build-up can change the distance between the pan and the wall. Enware’s documentation specifically calls for the final skirting or coving profile to be confirmed with the plumbing contractor before the suite is ordered. A drawing that works on an unfinished slab can leave a gap or force the pan forward after finishes are installed.
Recommended installation sequence
- Confirm the project brief. Decide whether the room requires a standard-height pan, an accessible or ambulant arrangement, special seat clearances or other accessibility provisions. Do not assume that the EBTW610 is interchangeable with a raised-height product.
- Check the finished set-out. Verify the wall line, tile thickness, skirting or cove profile, floor outlet location and water-supply position against the current Enware drawing.
- Select the trap arrangement. Confirm whether the site uses a P-trap or S-trap and whether the supplied S-trap adaptor is appropriate. Any mismatch should be resolved before rough-in.
- Prepare the concealed fixing points. Set the fixing locations and support structure in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Concealed fixing is only reliable when the backing and fasteners are correctly prepared.
- Connect the cistern and flush components. Install the supplied or specified flushing components, seals and water connection without forcing ceramic parts or overtightening fasteners.
- Set the pan against the finished wall. Check that the wall face, floor level and outlet alignment allow the pan to sit evenly without stressing the waste connection.
- Fit and test the seat. Install the soft-close seat, operate the hinges and check that the seat remains stable and clears adjacent walls or grab rails where applicable.
- Commission the flush. Test full and half flush operation, inspect every connection for leaks, confirm that the bowl clears as intended and clean away installation residue before handover.
Australian plumbing work should be completed by a suitably licensed contractor. The installation must follow the Plumbing Code of Australia, AS/NZS 3500 and Enware’s instructions in addition to the project’s local approval conditions.

Construction, flushing and load information
Vitreous china gives the suite a sealed, non-porous ceramic surface suited to routine bathroom cleaning. Ceramic is rigid and durable but can crack if struck or stressed by an incorrect installation, so the pan should be supported and fixed exactly as specified rather than used to compensate for an uneven floor or wall.
Enware lists Geberit flushing technology for the EBTW610. The suite also has a documented pan load test to 400 kg. A load-test figure is a product test result, not permission to use the pan as a step or to omit structural support. In a public or healthcare project, confirm that the specified seat, grab rails and wall backing meet the separate accessibility and structural requirements.
Compliance references for Australian projects
The EBTW610 technical sheet references AS1172-1, AS1172-2, WM-022627 and AS/NZS 6400. Those references are useful when a certifier, hydraulic consultant or procurement team checks the product schedule. They should be read alongside the current approval documents, because compliance can depend on the exact suite configuration and the way it is installed.

For installation, Enware directs installers to the Plumbing Code of Australia, AS/NZS 3500 and the manufacturer’s instructions. A product that is compliant on paper can still fail inspection if the trap, set-out, sealing, fixing or backflow arrangements are wrong.

Replacement parts and service planning

Match the part number to the suite identification before ordering. A leaking cistern-to-pan seal, a worn outlet valve and a damaged hinge require different remedies; substituting a visually similar universal part can compromise sealing, flush volume or the warranty. Keep the installation record and the original product identification with the maintenance file.

A raised-height toilet is a separate decision from choosing rimless technology. Enware’s related Wellbeing line is aimed at ambulant, aged-care and independent-living applications, but those variants must be checked against their own current data sheets. Do not specify a raised pan, seat height or accessibility outcome from EBTW610 information alone.
Where the suite is a sensible fit
Healthcare and high-traffic washrooms
The open rim and cleanable wall-faced form align with facilities that prioritise visible cleaning access and a restrained appearance. Infection-control teams should still approve the cleaning chemicals, procedures and inspection frequency.
Hotels and high-rise residential projects
The compact close-coupled format, concealed fixing and documented spare parts can simplify a repeated room schedule. Before bulk procurement, install a sample unit and verify the finished wall, cove, outlet, flush noise and maintenance access.
Standard residential bathrooms
