The Richmond boardroom specification cannot currently be verified. The available documentation identifies Ever Artwood (also written Ever Art Wood) as a timber-look aluminium batten and panel range presented by Covet, but it does not establish the Richmond project’s architect, client, address, selected profile, finish, fixing system or installation date. Published examples from Brisbane and Norwood demonstrate how the system has been used elsewhere; they must not be treated as evidence of what was installed in Richmond.
That distinction matters when a boardroom is being painted, fitted out or handed over. Finish names, fire evidence, substrate details, warranties and maintenance obligations all belong to the exact profile and assembly specified on the project, not merely to the product family.

What Ever Artwood is
A 2018 Architecture & Design report describes Covet presenting Takasho Japan’s Ever Artwood timber-look aluminium screens and cladding. The report says the range was offered in 24 finishes, with multiple profiles and fixing methods. It also records claims of Japanese manufacture, resistance to splitting and warping over time, and a 10-year outdoor warranty. Those statements belong to that dated product report; they are not confirmation of current availability, warranty wording or performance for a Richmond interior.
A 2020 product feature describes the Ever Art Wood series as aluminium battens and panels for interior and exterior uses, including walls, facades, feature elements and signage. It highlights a timber-like grain and texture, finish choices and flexibility in arranging the profiles. These are product-feature descriptions rather than independent, head-to-head performance findings.

For a boardroom, the practical attraction is the appearance of timber with a non-timber substrate. The design team can use a repeated batten rhythm, a panel field or a feature wall while specifying an aluminium product family. The visual result still depends on the chosen grain, colour, profile depth, spacing, corner treatment and how the fixing system is concealed or expressed.
What is—and is not—known about the Richmond boardroom
No matching published project record establishes a Richmond office boardroom installation. The following project facts therefore remain unresolved:
- the client, architect, interior designer and builder;
- the building address and room location;
- the Ever Artwood profile, dimensions and orientation;
- the selected colour or grain finish;
- whether the application is a wall, screen, ceiling element, joinery face or another assembly;
- the substrate, cavity, backing board and fixing method;
- the installation date, quantities and installer;
- project-specific fire, acoustic, moisture and maintenance documentation; and

Documented examples that should not be confused with Richmond
Two published case studies show the range in use, but each is a separate project with its own design and compliance context.

The Aria case study also reports that the cladding performed to AS/NZ 1530.3 with a spread-of-flame index of 0 and to AS/NZ 3837-1998 with a Group 1 result. Those results are reported project information for the Aria specification. They do not certify a Richmond assembly, and they should not be copied into a boardroom schedule without confirming the exact product, backing, cavity and installation arrangement.
For Aria, Covet director Anthony Scott described Kuri Masame as “a very matte, textured, mid-range colour and incredibly realistic, even when viewed at close contact – making it an excellent choice for a high-quality build such as this.” The quotation refers to Aria’s Kuri Masame selection, not to a Richmond colour or finish.

What the published durability test actually shows
A 2021 Architecture & Design report describes testing by the Australian Wool Testing Authority Product Testing Division. Six Ever Art Wood samples, representing three profiles, were exposed for 500 hours under the ASTM B117-2018 salt-spray procedure.

The report is useful evidence when a team is assessing a coastal or salt-laden environment, but it is not a universal durability guarantee. Ask for the complete test report, sample identities, coating or finish details and any limitations before using the 500-hour result in a Richmond specification. Interior exposure, cleaning chemicals, condensation, impact and workmanship can create conditions that the salt-spray test does not represent.
How to verify the Richmond specification before work starts
Use a document-led process so the boardroom finish, painting package and building approvals all refer to the same assembly.

- Obtain the finish schedule and reflected plans. Identify every location where Ever Artwood appears and mark whether it is a full-height wall, partial feature, screen, bulkhead, door or joinery element.
- Record the exact product identity. Capture the range name, profile code, dimensions, finish name, grain direction and required lengths. “Ever Artwood” alone is not enough to order or approve the material.
- Confirm the fixing system. Request the manufacturer or supplier detail for clips, bolts, rails, trims, joints, corners and access panels. The ALDI example used a bolt-fix system, while other profiles may use different methods.
- Check the supporting construction. Coordinate substrate, framing, cavity, backing board, fire stopping, movement joints and services. Do not assume that a detail from Aria or Norwood can be transplanted into Richmond.
- Approve a physical sample. View the proposed finish at boardroom lighting and close range. Check grain repeat, gloss or matt appearance, colour variation, cut edges and the relationship with the room’s paint, flooring and furniture.
- Request current compliance documents. For the specified assembly, obtain fire-test evidence, installation instructions, reaction-to-fire limits, maintenance guidance and any indoor-use restrictions. If the project needs an AS/NZ result, verify that the document covers the exact profile and build-up.
- Confirm warranty and supply conditions in writing. The 2018 report mentions a 10-year outdoor warranty, but current terms, exclusions, registration requirements and whether an interior boardroom is covered must come from the current supplier documentation.
- Coordinate the painting scope. Protect the aluminium battens and finished panels from overspray, sanding dust, plaster, solvent cleaners and adhesive residue. Define masking, sequencing and touch-up responsibility before painters start.
- Photograph and file the completed work. Keep the approved sample, batch or finish information, shop drawings, product data, cleaning instructions and warranty documents with the handover package.
Design and construction questions specific to a boardroom
Appearance at meeting distance
A boardroom is viewed both from across a table and at close range near doors, credenzas and video-conference cameras. A matte, textured finish such as the Kuri Masame described for Aria may read differently under daylight, downlights and screen illumination. Confirm the finish under the actual lighting scheme instead of relying on a small printed image or a web swatch.

Acoustics
The available product descriptions discuss appearance, profiles and applications, not a boardroom acoustic rating. Aluminium battens alone should therefore not be presented as sound absorption. If speech privacy or reverberation control is required, have the acoustic consultant specify the backing, cavity, infill or separate absorber and document how the cladding remains serviceable.
Fire and approvals
The Aria report’s AS/NZ 1530.3 and AS/NZ 3837-1998 results are valuable only in the context of that reported assembly. Richmond’s certifier should review the exact profile, coating, substrate, cavity and fixings. A product-family name is not a substitute for an assembly-specific report.

Cleaning and damage
Boardrooms experience fingerprints, chair contact, moving equipment and frequent cleaning. Obtain the current cleaning method and chemical restrictions. Clarify whether a damaged batten can be removed individually, whether spare lengths should be retained and how cut ends or touched-up areas are treated.
Interfaces with painted surfaces
Where Ever Artwood meets painted plasterboard, timber, metal trims or glazed partitions, set the joint line and tolerance before installation. Paint colours should be approved beside the actual aluminium finish. Masking alone will not correct a poorly aligned trim or an inconsistent shadow gap.

No current Richmond quantity, quotation, delivery period or installation rate is established. The published material also does not provide current pricing. Costs will depend on the selected profile and finish, measured lengths, trims, wastage, fixing system, access, substrate preparation and installer requirements. Obtain a project quotation that separates material, trims, freight, installation, protection and any sample or mock-up charges.
Availability should likewise be checked at the time of specification. The 24-finish figure belongs to the 2018 report and should not be treated as a current catalogue count. Ask the supplier to confirm the live finish list, lead time, minimum order or length constraints, and whether replacement material can be sourced after handover.

Brisbane and Norwood projects show credible precedents, and a reported 500-hour salt-spray test provides limited evidence for the tested samples. None of those records identifies the Richmond boardroom’s specification. Until the project drawings, approved sample and current supplier documents are available, the responsible description is that Ever Artwood was proposed or reported for Richmond—not that a particular colour, profile, fire result or warranty has been confirmed.
