For Meta’s official Facebook logo, download the asset from the Facebook Brand Resource Center. Avoid search-result downloads: Meta says logos and images found elsewhere online are not approved brand assets. The Facebook app logo is also different from Meta’s company logo and the thumbs-up Like symbol.
Where to download the Facebook icon
Use Meta’s Facebook Brand Resource Center when you need the current Facebook brand asset. The page provides a logo pack after you accept the applicable guidelines and terms. Meta advises against using files found through general web searches because they may be outdated, incorrect, or unapproved.

If you need an icon for a website built with the UK Office for National Statistics design system, its Facebook icon page offers a separate UI asset set. It is an ONS design-system resource, not Meta’s official brand download.
Facebook logo, Meta logo, and Like symbol: what is the difference?
The Facebook app has its own branding, distinct from Meta’s corporate identity. Meta announced that distinction in 2019, and its current guidelines say not to use the Meta company logo to represent Facebook. The thumbs-up Like symbol is not a replacement for the Facebook logo either.

Choose the right version and background
Meta identifies the Facebook Blue logo with a white “f” as the primary version, intended mainly for white backgrounds. It may also be used over imagery when there is sufficient contrast. A secondary white version has a transparent “f” and may be used on blue backgrounds or imagery.
Preserve spacing and minimum size
- Leave clear space equal to one quarter of the logo’s width around it.
- For digital applications, keep the logo at least 16 px wide.
- For print, keep the logo at least 6 mm wide.

Do not alter or rebuild the mark
Use the complete approved asset. Meta’s guidelines say not to use only the “f,” substitute the Like symbol, add words or emojis, change the color, make the mark 3D, outline it, add a drop shadow, or construct a new word mark.
When an ONS icon may be the better fit

The ONS page also documents the Nunjucks parameter iconType: "facebook". Use this option when its design-system context suits your interface; it does not establish that Meta approves the ONS asset as an official brand pack.
Does downloading the logo give you permission to use it?
No. Downloading an asset does not grant blanket commercial rights. Meta says its assets are not licensed for merchandise such as clothing, hats, or mugs. It notes that the “f” logo may be used on product packaging in certain circumstances, subject to its guidelines. For partnerships or sponsorships, Meta directs users to speak with their Facebook contact about guidance and permission.
