These five rope-bracelet designs use the same basic materials—rope and embroidery floss—but create very different results: a woven cuff, a key-ring loop, two braided styles, and a wrapped accent bracelet. Choose the construction that suits your preferred look and hardware, then follow its steps below.

Choose a design and gather its materials
The original Brit + Co tutorial and its Make: project page describe these five approaches. The table compares how each bracelet is built and what its finishing requires. The shared materials list includes paracord, embroidery floss, cord ends, clasps, a keychain, a wooden bead, studs, E-6000 glue, scissors, a lighter, a hot glue gun, and needle-nose pliers; you need only the items for the design you choose. Brit + Co’s tutorial and Make:’s project page provide the original instructions.

1. Make a woven cuff
- Measure the length needed to fit your wrist, then cut six rope pieces to that length. The tutorial uses two rope colors for its example, but a single color also works.
- Gather the six ends in a long cord end and secure it with needle-nose pliers, following the finding maker’s instructions.
- Weave embroidery floss across and through the parallel ropes until you have the cuff’s woven section.
- Gather the remaining rope ends in a second cord end and attach a clasp.
This design uses more rope strands than the others and requires clasp hardware. Check the fit around your wrist before securing the second end.
2. Make a keychain-loop bracelet
- Loop the rope through a key ring.
- Cross the rope to form the bracelet’s second loop, adjusting both loops for fit.
- Glue the crossing, then wrap embroidery floss around the join to cover and hold it.
- Use the other part of the keychain hardware as the closure, as in the tutorial.
This method relies on the keychain parts rather than a separate cord-end-and-clasp set. Use glue suitable for the materials and allow it to set as directed on its packaging.

3. Braid a bead bracelet
- Secure two rope pieces and one piece of embroidery floss together in a cord end.
- Braid the three strands to the desired length.
- Thread on a bead whose hole fits over the braided bundle without sliding freely.
A bead that is too loose can move along the braid; check the fit before completing the bracelet. The source describes the bead as the design’s finishing detail, rather than specifying a clasp closure.

4. Make a studded stack
- Secure three rope pieces together in a cord end.
- Braid the strands, then finish the other end with a second cord end.
- Add studs according to their attachment method and maker instructions.
- Repeat to make additional bracelets for a stacked look.
The tutorial’s materials include studs and E-6000 glue. Follow the product directions for the particular studs and glue you use; the source does not specify a universal stud type or placement pattern.

5. Make a wrapped-rope bracelet
- Secure one end of a chunky rope in a cord end.
- Apply hot glue to a short middle section, then wrap embroidery floss around that section.
- Secure the other rope end with a second cord end.
The original author estimates this design takes less than two minutes. That is an estimate for the described project, not a guaranteed completion time; glue handling and finishing can add time.

Fit the bracelet before final assembly
For the cuff, compare the six cut lengths with your wrist before closing the second end. For the keychain loop, adjust the size of both loops before gluing the crossing. For the bead braid, check that the bead grips the braid instead of sliding freely. These designs use different finishing methods: the cuff uses a clasp, the keychain bracelet uses its keychain hardware, and the braided bead version relies on a snug bead rather than a latch.

Be cautious with flame and adhesives
The tutorial suggests using a lighter to seal cut rope ends, but a flame is not appropriate for every cord or fiber. Follow the cord maker’s material-specific cutting and finishing guidance, and do not assume that melting an end is safe or suitable. Make: explicitly advises getting adult help for the flame step if needed. Use hot glue and other adhesives carefully, following their packaging instructions and keeping them away from skin and eyes.
