FLUX Delta was presented in a 2014 Kickstarter campaign as a modular machine that combined 3D printing, 3D scanning and laser engraving. The campaign raised $1,641,075 pledged by 2,707 backers against a $100,000 goal — Kickstarter campaign page, 2014. That figure records crowdfunding, not a retail price or proof of delivered performance, so it does not establish that the machine was cheap.

What was FLUX Delta?

FLUX Technology LLC’s Kickstarter project, titled “FLUX Delta – The Everything Printer for Designers,” proposed one device with three functions: 3D printing, 3D scanning and laser engraving. Its modular concept was meant to let users configure the machine for different creative tasks. The campaign description establishes what the product was presented to do; it does not, by itself, verify final production specifications or how well each function worked.

When did the campaign run, and what do its figures mean?

The Kickstarter campaign ran from November 11 to December 21, 2014. Kickstarter reports $1,641,075 pledged by 2,707 backers against a $100,000 goal — Kickstarter campaign page, 2014. These are campaign totals only. They do not establish the machine’s retail price, the number of units ultimately shipped, independent test results or comparative value.

Consequently, the “cheap” description in the old headline cannot be confirmed from the documented campaign total. A meaningful affordability comparison would require a verified Delta selling price and comparable information about included functions, materials, accessories and ongoing costs.

What specifications and compatibility details remain unclear?

The available campaign information does not establish the final production specifications, supported print materials, scanner method or accuracy, or the machine’s current sales and support status. In particular, it is not enough to choose filament, replacement parts or other consumables with confidence. Check Delta-specific documentation before buying anything for a unit; specifications for later FLUX products are not a substitute.

  • Printing: Supported filament and other material details are not established by the campaign information.
  • Scanning: The precise scanning method and accuracy are not established.
  • Engraving: Delta-specific laser power, work area, compatible materials and safety instructions are not established.
  • Availability and support: Current hardware sales or service availability are not confirmed by the campaign page or current FLUX pages.

How does FLUX’s current product information relate to Delta?

FLUX’s downloads page places Beambox and beamo under “Legacy Products,” lists newer laser products separately, and directs users of FLUX Studio (Delta Family) and FLUX Delta (+) firmware to the Help Center. This shows that Delta-family software and firmware references remain distinct from the company’s current laser-product listings; it does not confirm that Delta hardware can still be bought or serviced. Beambox is a separate desktop laser cutter and engraver, not a Delta specification source. FLUX lists these Beambox-family specifications:

Model Laser Work area Maximum cutting thickness
Beambox 40 W CO2 400 × 375 mm Up to 12 mm
Beambox Pro 50 W CO2 600 × 375 mm Up to 14 mm

FLUX says cutting results vary by material. Its Beambox page names materials such as wood, leather, acrylic and cardboard, and says the machine can engrave selected metals with a specialized coating but cannot cut metal. None of those material or performance details should be assumed to apply to FLUX Delta. FLUX Beambox product information.

The same Beambox page says not to leave that machine unattended while operating and recommends a well-ventilated location with outdoor venting because laser processing produces smoke and fumes. Those are Beambox-specific directions; use Delta-specific safety documentation for a Delta rather than transferring instructions between machines.
