Fractal Photoshop brushes are downloadable digital assets—usually ABR files—that add decorative, repeating or branching forms to a design. The available examples differ in brush count, supported apps, included files and license terms. The sources available for this article do not establish a verified, current collection of exactly 45 packs, so this guide focuses on documented examples and how to assess a pack before downloading it.
What a fractal Photoshop brush pack contains
Unlike a conventional brush designed mainly for painting continuous strokes, a fractal brush may work more like a stamp: each click places a complex shape for decorative effects. One seller describes its 93-brush set for abstract, surreal, fantasy and decorative work. These assets can be used for backgrounds, accents or other compositions, depending on the shapes and terms in the specific listing.
Most packs discussed here are digital downloads, not physical brushes. Adobe explains that downloadable brush packs can be saved as ABR files, but a listing may also include image previews, styles or formats intended for other applications. Check the product description rather than assuming every file in a pack works in Photoshop.

How to choose a pack
- Check compatibility: Look for the Photoshop version and any other supported applications stated by the seller. A file format alone does not establish compatibility with every app.
- Compare included files: Confirm whether the download contains ABR brushes only or also PNGs, JPEG previews, styles or app-specific formats.
- Match the visual purpose: Read the creator’s description and inspect previews to decide whether the pack suits backgrounds, fantasy effects, decorative stamps or another intended use.
- Review the license: Terms belong to the individual listing. Before using brushes in client work, advertising or products for sale, confirm the current license permits that use. Do not assume redistribution of the brush files is allowed.
- Check the current offer: Verify price, availability and product contents on the listing before purchase.

Photoshop desktop
- Download the brush pack and locate its ABR file. If the download is compressed, extract it first.
- With Photoshop running, open the ABR file. Adobe says this adds the brushes to the Brushes panel.
- Open the Brushes panel and select a brush to use it. If the file does not load, check that you selected an ABR file and that the seller lists compatibility with your Photoshop version.
Photoshop on iPad or Adobe Fresco
- Save the ABR file somewhere accessible to the app.
- Open the brush panel in Photoshop on iPad or Adobe Fresco and use its option to add an ABR file.
- Select the imported brush from the panel. Check the pack listing for app-specific format or version requirements if the brushes do not appear or behave as expected.
Adobe’s instructions cover these import workflows; they do not mean every brush listing supports every application or version. Confirm compatibility with both Adobe’s guidance and the creator’s product description.

Adobe says Creative Cloud Market was discontinued beginning with Creative Cloud desktop version 4.8. Adobe lists Adobe Stock, Kyle T. These are general alternatives for finding or making creative assets, not a promise that each offers fractal brush packs.
