Choose SVG or PNG for your project
SVG for scalable artwork
SVG is a vector format, so it can be resized without the pixelation associated with enlarging a small raster image. It is useful when you want to adjust the artwork or scale it for a larger painting reference or print. Some painting or layout apps may not open SVG directly; if so, use a compatible editor to export it to a supported format.

PNG for fixed-size placement
PNG is a raster image made from pixels. Its usable detail depends on the file’s dimensions: a larger PNG can suit a larger placement than a small icon, but enlarging it beyond its original size can make edges look soft. Choose a listed export size that suits the intended use.

The named CC0 examples above are identified as CC0 on their individual asset records. That permission applies to those specific works, not automatically to every image in the same repository or in search results. Before downloading, open the asset page, verify its license and attribution details, and keep a copy or record of the page with the file. For car-15, Openclipart expressly says commercial use is allowed without asking permission under the stated CC0 terms. For the other CC0 examples, consult each linked record for its own license details.

Download and prepare the image
- Open the linked page for the specific car illustration you want.
- Confirm that the page identifies the file format and the license for that image.
- Choose SVG if you need vector scaling or editing, or select a PNG export at an appropriate pixel size.
- Download the file and open it in your painting, image-editing, or layout app. If that app does not support SVG, export the SVG to a format it accepts.
- Keep the asset page details with your downloaded file so you can check the stated terms later.
