Start with the official Chiikawa information hub for verified franchise destinations and goods information. The official pages reviewed do not establish a general library of free Chiikawa illustrations to download. Wallpaper galleries may offer free images for personal device use, but an unofficial site’s terms do not prove that the rights holders authorized its images.
Where to look for Chiikawa images
Official Chiikawa destinations
The official Chiikawa information hub is the verified starting point for franchise information, the official shop, and goods listings. It is useful for finding official destinations, but the pages reviewed do not show a general free-illustration download archive.

The Chiikawa Park usage conditions say the site is for viewing and restrict unauthorized downloading, copying, reposting, modification, and other use. The page states: “このホームページは閲覧することのみでお楽しみください。” (“Please enjoy this website by viewing it only.”) Its terms also say the current official homepage terms apply on the date of a visit, so check the current terms on the official site before relying on them.
Unofficial wallpaper galleries
One mobile wallpaper gallery lists images by character and format, matching searches such as “ちいかわ壁紙” (Chiikawa wallpaper), “スマホ/待ち受け” (smartphone or lock-screen wallpaper), and “デスクトップ壁紙” (desktop wallpaper). Its About page identifies it as an independent, unofficial site and disclaims affiliation, licensing, sponsorship, or endorsement by Nagano or Chiikawa rights holders. The gallery listing describes what the page offers; it does not establish the provenance or authorization of every image.
#1 Best Overall
The gallery’s own terms, last updated 2025-07-01, describe personal device wallpaper use and prohibit unauthorized commercial use, redistribution, resale, and reposting to other sites. Those are the operator’s stated terms; they do not establish permission from the character rights holders. Do not treat an image as official or rights-cleared simply because a page calls it free.

Saving an image as a private phone or computer wallpaper is different from publishing it, editing it for redistribution, or using it to promote or sell something. Before using an image, distinguish the permission the gallery operator claims to offer from authorization by the people or companies that hold the underlying rights.
- Personal device wallpaper: Check the gallery’s current terms and follow its stated limits. The cited gallery describes personal wallpaper use, but its terms do not prove rights-holder authorization.
- Reposting or sharing elsewhere: Do not repost a downloaded image to another site or social account unless the relevant rights holders have granted permission. The cited wallpaper terms prohibit reposting to other sites, and the official Chiikawa Park terms restrict unauthorized reuse.
- Editing and redistribution: Do not modify an image and redistribute it without permission. The official park terms expressly restrict unauthorized modification and other use.
- Commercial or project use: Do not use a downloaded image in a product, advertisement, client work, or other commercial project without permission from the relevant rights holders. The wallpaper site also prohibits commercial use without permission in its own terms; that statement is not a universal legal ruling.
Check a wallpaper source before saving or using an image
- Identify the operator. Read the site’s About page and determine whether it is an official franchise destination or an independent fan site.
- Read the current terms. Confirm what the operator says is permitted, including whether personal wallpaper use, editing, reposting, and commercial use are treated differently.
- Look for rights-holder authorization. A claim that an image is free or for personal use is not, by itself, proof that the character rights holders authorized its publication.
- Ask for permission for broader use. For anything beyond private device wallpaper—especially redistribution or commercial use—seek permission from the relevant rights holders rather than assuming a gallery’s terms cover it.
Support the franchise through official channels
If your goal is to support Chiikawa, use the official hub to reach its shop and goods information. Buying official goods is a separate option; it does not grant permission to download or reuse illustrations.
