Free quilting coloring pages range from traditional block diagrams to modern quilt designs and storybook illustrations. For a multi-page collection, start with AllPeopleQuilt or Quiltfolk; for individual blocks to color or use as quilt-planning sketches, try NiftyFifty, Missouri Star Quilt Co. or the Fat Quarter Shop. The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian’s 2026 Quilt Along is another option, with monthly patterns and coloring pages scheduled from June through October.

Which kind of page should you choose?

For a relaxing coloring session

Choose a page whose pattern detail suits the time and materials you have. AllPeopleQuilt’s collections combine traditional and modern designs, while the NiftyFifty block pages provide a broad selection of geometric layouts. If you prefer individual designs over a book, Missouri Star Quilt Co. offers three named sheets.

For children or a group activity

Quiltfolk’s book is the clearest story-oriented option in this group: its illustrations come from three quilt-themed children’s stories and include blank quilts. The AllPeopleQuilt collection with eight quilt-pattern and sewing-themed pages is another multi-page choice. For classroom or guild use, check the publisher’s current terms and instructions before making copies; the available descriptions do not establish a general reproduction policy for every resource.

For planning quilt colors

NiftyFifty says its pages are generated from real pieced-block geometry and can be used to audition colored-pencil combinations before committing fabric. Homemade Emily Jane’s pages accompany modern patterns, which can help when you want to consider color placement within a specific designer layout. A coloring sheet is a visual aid, not a substitute for checking fabric prints, contrast and value in the actual materials.

For a continuing project

The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian Quilt Along has monthly patterns and coloring pages scheduled from June through October 2026. Because the series is date-based, check the program page for which installments are currently available rather than assuming every month’s page has already been released.

How to print and use a quilt coloring page

  1. Open the publisher’s download or print page. Confirm that the resource is a printable page or PDF and review any stated instructions.
  2. Save the PDF locally. This makes it easier to select the correct file and print settings from your device.
  3. Match paper size and scale to the instructions. DK provides A4 and US Letter resources and says its templates are formatted at 100% scale. Check the specific resource before resizing; not every coloring page is a template intended to print at a particular scale.
  4. Print in black and white when directed. Quiltfolk’s instructions specify black-and-white printing. For other sources, follow their own directions.
  5. Make a palette key before coloring repeats. Color one block or section first, then use it as a guide for repeating colors symmetrically across the design.
  6. Compare the colored page with fabric swatches. Keep the sheet beside the fabrics or quilt plan to see how your proposed palette reads before cutting fabric.

Other printable collections and booklets

For additional block choices, 911 Coloring lists pages for log cabin, pinwheel, Ohio Star, flying geese, nine-patch, diamond, Grandmother’s Flower Garden and basket-weave layouts. National Quilting Circle’s “Quilt Block Coloring Pages: 10-Inch Blocks” is another specifically titled PDF. Handi Quilter documents free downloadable booklets, including a nine-pattern booklet with quilting designs; those booklets may be more useful when you want pattern material alongside coloring inspiration rather than a coloring-only collection.
