What is the difference?
Getimg.ai is best understood as a multi-model, multimodal AI content studio. It brings together image generation, image-to-image editing, video generation, audio generation, background replacement, background removal, resizing, and upscaling. Its appeal is breadth: you can try different model families and move from generation to asset preparation without assembling several separate tools.
Leonardo AI is a visual-first creative-development environment. Alongside image and video generation, it emphasizes Realtime Canvas, Realtime Generation, image and video guidance references, Elements, Blueprints, Flow State, Ultra Quality, private generations, and personal AI-model training. It is oriented toward developing and repeating a visual direction rather than simply testing the largest possible model catalog.

Getimg.ai trade-offs
Model breadth can also create decision overhead. Credit costs vary by model, batch size, and enabled settings, so a large monthly allowance does not translate into a fixed number of images. Monthly plan credits do not roll over. The web subscription also does not include API credits.
The Entry plan page combines a commercial-rights claim with a “Personal use” label. Treat that wording as something to clarify with Getimg.ai for important client or business work rather than assuming the label has a broader legal meaning than the provider intends.
Leonardo AI: strengths and limitations

Leonardo is a stronger fit when you are building a repeatable look: a character, product style, illustration language, or visual identity. Its controls may be more useful to an artist or concept designer than a simple model picker, although the number of options can make the learning curve steeper for casual users.

Leonardo trade-offs
“Unlimited” or relaxed generation does not mean unlimited speed or unrestricted access to every model. It applies to selected models, and Leonardo warns that queueing and concurrency can slow during periods of demand.
The free plan is especially important to understand: its creations are public. Paid plans add private generations, but private generation consumes the plan’s resources and should not be confused with a guarantee that every legal or commercial risk disappears.
Features by workflow
Generate
Getimg.ai is the more convenient choice if you want to compare many external models from one account. Leonardo is more attractive if generation is part of an iterative art-direction process involving references, realtime tools, Elements, or a trained personal model.
Direct
Leonardo has the clearer advantage for visual direction. Realtime Canvas, Realtime Generation, guidance references, and personal model training give you more ways to steer a result toward a particular subject or style.

Getimg.ai has the broader explicit production-tool set: background removal and changes, smart resizing, image upscaling, video upscaling, image-to-video, and text-to-video. That is useful for marketers, ecommerce sellers, and artists producing several deliverables from one source image.
Standardize
Leonardo’s personal AI-model training and Elements are designed for repeatability, but no feature guarantees perfect identity or product fidelity. Test a sequence of outputs rather than judging consistency from one successful image.
Scale
Getimg.ai can be appealing for mixed asset production because image, video, audio, resizing, and upscaling are grouped together. Leonardo may be more efficient for teams whose main output is a consistent family of images and videos rather than several media types.

Both services offer team products. Getimg.ai uses seat-based plans with team limits; Leonardo offers Starter and Growth plans with shared tokens and private team generations. Compare the minimum seats, pooled allowance, asset-sharing behavior, and privacy settings for your actual team before buying.

Getimg.ai says each action costs at least one credit and shows the cost before confirmation. Cost varies by model, batch size, and settings, and monthly credits do not roll over. Paid subscriptions advertise commercial rights, subject to the provider’s terms and the CreativeML Open RAIL-M license. API credits are separate from these web plans.

Displayed team plans were Starter at $72/month total ($24/seat) with 75,000 shared tokens and Growth at $144/month total ($48/seat) with 180,000 shared tokens. Confirm the required seat count and current billing terms: the per-seat display may assume a minimum team size.
Leonardo tokens reflect computational intensity; they are not a fixed “one token equals one image” unit. The same is true of Getimg.ai credits in a different way. Compare a defined task, not headline balances.
How to calculate the real cost
Use:
Effective cost per usable asset = monthly plan cost ÷ commercially usable final assetsFor a more realistic production estimate:
Effective image cost = (plan price + top-ups + tax) ÷ final-resolution outputs after retries, edits, and upscalesInclude failed generations, rejected images, variations, upscaling, background work, video duration, and any API charges. Annual billing can lower the monthly equivalent while increasing your commitment.
Free plans and commercial work
Leonardo’s free plan provides 150 fast tokens per day and a 150-token bank, but its creations are public. Leonardo’s help-center guidance says free users receive a non-exclusive, royalty-free commercial-use license while Leonardo retains broader rights over created images. Paid users have stronger ownership rights for private generations.
Getimg.ai’s reviewed materials do not provide enough detail here to characterize every free-web-app limitation. Do not assume that a free allocation has the same commercial or privacy conditions as a paid plan; check the current FAQ and terms.

Free tiers are suitable for learning, prompt experiments, and public concept work. They are poor choices for unreleased client assets, proprietary product designs, confidential references, or campaign concepts unless the provider’s current privacy and licensing terms clearly support that use.
Privacy, ownership, and commercial rights
“Commercial use allowed” is not the same as guaranteed copyright, exclusivity, or freedom from third-party claims. AI content can raise copyright, trademark, publicity-rights, likeness, training-data, and contractual issues.

- Getimg.ai: paid subscriptions advertise commercial use of created images and videos, subject to its terms and the CreativeML Open RAIL-M license. Confirm current input-retention, gallery, and privacy terms for confidential work.
- Leonardo AI: paid subscribers retain full ownership and intellectual-property rights in generated images under the provider’s stated policy, and paid private generations receive stronger protection. Free and public images have broader visibility and reuse implications.
- Both: private mode does not make an output exclusive, guarantee copyright registration, or remove the need to review likeness, trademark, and client-contract issues.
For high-value commercial work, review the current provider terms and obtain qualified legal advice rather than relying on a short marketing phrase.

Getimg.ai API
Getimg.ai documents an image-generation endpoint at POST https://api.getimg.ai/v2/images/generations. It uses bearer-token authentication and accepts fields including model, prompt, aspect_ratio, resolution, and output_format. The documented output formats include PNG, JPEG, and WebP, and the images array can contain up to eight items. See the official image-generation API documentation.

It also advertises non-expiring API credits, up to 10 concurrent generations on the displayed self-serve offering, private input images, no training on input or API-generated images, a public parameter for output visibility, and API access to custom fine-tuned models. For developers, choose Leonardo if visual prototyping, explicit privacy controls, and pay-as-you-go onboarding matter most. Investigate Getimg.ai if your application depends on its model catalog or specific endpoints. Compare the same model, resolution, output format, concurrency, retention policy, moderation behavior, latency, and service commitments before production deployment.

Which platform is better for your use case?
Choose Getimg.ai if you are…

For client and brand work
Use a paid/private workflow, document which service and model produced each asset, and check whether uploaded references, likenesses, trademarks, and outputs are permitted by both the provider’s terms and your client contract.

Estimate accepted final assets rather than generations. Getimg.ai may win when you need multiple media and finishing tools; Leonardo may win when a trained visual system reduces retries. Measure both with your own prompts and output standards.
How to compare image quality fairly
This dossier does not establish that either platform produces better images overall. A platform-level quality claim is unreliable when one test uses a different model, prompt, resolution, reference, or post-processing chain.
If quality determines the purchase, run the same test on both platforms:
- Use the same prompt, aspect ratio, resolution, reference image, and number of samples.
- Record the exact model, version, seed where available, negative prompt, and enhancement settings.
- Test a photorealistic person, product image, typography, four-scene character consistency, image-to-image editing, background replacement, sketch-to-image, and image-to-video motion.
- Count all attempts, failures, edits, upscales, and time spent—not only the selected result.
- Score prompt adherence, anatomy, text, composition, identity, style consistency, edit precision, edges, detail, speed, cost, and commercial suitability.
The result should identify the best model and workflow for your work, not announce a permanent universal winner.
Alternatives
Midjourney is worth considering for a distinctive aesthetic and community-driven image creation. Adobe Firefly is a stronger fit for Adobe-heavy teams that want generation inside established design workflows. Canva suits marketers who need templates, brand kits, layouts, and publishing. Runway is more directly focused on AI video. OpenAI’s image tools may suit conversational creation or developers already using OpenAI APIs. Technically capable users who prioritize local control can explore Stable Diffusion-based tools, accepting the setup and maintenance burden.
